  • Knowledge deepens one's appreciation of humor. A well-rounded education doesn't just make one smart—it helps one find joy in unexpected places.
  • Practicing gratitude isn't just for students—it's also a powerful tool for educators. Science shows it can help counter the stress of teaching and boost resilience. Try this: Each day, note one thing you're grateful for in your teaching journey. It could be a student's progress, a colleague's support, or even a quiet moment during lunch. Small acts of gratitude can make a big difference in your mental health and job satisfaction.
  • When times are challenging, sometimes it’s best to pull back a bit and fix your focus on only those things that are within your control.
  • Empathy is powerful, yet many children struggle to develop it.
  • When scheduling all of your priorities, remember to include yourself.
