What the wise do:

  • Trust God with all their heart and don’t think they know everything. (Proverbs 3:5)
  • Remember God in everything they do and He will show them the right way. (Proverbs 3:6)
  • Respect God and stay away from bad things. (Proverbs 3:7)
  • Give God some of their money and their best crops. (Proverbs 3:9)
  • Listen to God when He teaches them and corrects them. He does it because He loves them and wants to bless them. (Proverbs 3:11-12)



What the foolish do:

  • Think they are smarter than God and don’t listen to His wisdom and instructions. (Proverbs 3:7)
  • Depend on their own ideas and don’t follow God’s directions. (Proverbs 3:5)
  • Go against God and do bad things. (Proverbs 3:7)
  • Be greedy and selfish with their money and things. (Proverbs 3:9)
  • Get angry and sad when God teaches them and corrects them. They don’t accept His love and grace. (Proverbs 3:11-12)



Relationships

What the wise do:

  • Love God and do what He says. (Proverbs 3:1-4)
  • Keep His words in their heart and mind. (Proverbs 3:3)
  • Make God and people happy and like them. (Proverbs 3:4)
  • Help those who need it, when they can. (Proverbs 3:27)
  • Live peacefully and trustfully with their neighbors. (Proverbs 3:29)
  • Do not say bad things about anyone, when they have not done anything wrong to them. (Proverbs 3:30)



What the foolish do:

  • Don’t love God and don’t do what He says. (Proverbs 3:1-4)
  • Forget His words and don’t care about them. (Proverbs 3:1)
  • Make God and people angry and hate them. (Proverbs 3:4)
  • Don’t help those who need it, even when they can. (Proverbs 3:27)
  • Plan to hurt and fight with their neighbors. (Proverbs 3:29)
  • Lie and gossip about others, even when they are good. (Proverbs 3:30)



Speech

What the wise do:

  • Call wisdom their sister and insight their relative. (Proverbs 3:4)
  • Use them to stay away from the bad woman, who says nice things to trick them. (Proverbs 3:5)
  • Say the truth and make others happy with their words. (Proverbs 3:6)



What the foolish do:

  • Fall for the bad woman, who lies to them with her words. (Proverbs 3:5)
  • Lie and cheat others with their words. (Proverbs 3:6)
  • Argue and complain with their words. (Proverbs 3:7)



Work

What the wise do:

  • Work hard and well. (Proverbs 3:9)
  • Plant their fields and get their crops. (Proverbs 3:10)
  • Work with skill, honesty, kindness, and joy. (Proverbs 3:11-12)



What the foolish do:

  • Work lazy and poorly. (Proverbs 3:9)
  • Don’t take care of their fields and become poor. (Proverbs 3:10)
  • Work with laziness, dishonesty, meanness, and unhappiness. (Proverbs 3:11-12)



Success

What the wise do:

  • Enjoy the good things that wisdom gives them, such as long life, money, peace, safety, comfort, and help. (Proverbs 3:13-26)
  • Live the way God wants them to and get His love and good things. (Proverbs 3:13-26)
  • Do not be scared of bad things that might happen, because God will be with them and protect them. (Proverbs 3:25-26)



What the foolish do:

  • Miss out on the good things that wisdom gives them, such as long life, money, peace, safety, comfort, and help. (Proverbs 3:13-26)
  • Live the way they want to and get God’s anger and bad things. (Proverbs 3:13-26)
  • Fear bad things that might happen, because they don’t have God with them or protect them. (Proverbs 3:25-26)
