Know When To Box And When To Fight

Know When To Box And When To Fight

Heading into the 12th and final round of the final fight in Creed III, Adonis Creed received some of the most powerful advice ever given in a movie. His manager, Lil Duke, spoke to him,

“You’re out there boxing…I need you to start fighting. Let go of the fear. You hear me? Let go of the guilt. Let go of it, dog. Let go of whatever was and walk into what is. Go out there and be ferocious. You hear me? Be ferocious. Go out there and be Adonis Creed.”

Let go of the fear. Let go of the guilt. Let go of whatever was and walk into what is.

Those words have a very specific meaning to Adonis and I won’t ruin the movie–I highly encourage you to check it out, it was my favorite of the three movies. Although those words may have been spoken to Creed to motivate him to go out and win the fight, they were written for you to go out and win life.

As Adonis did for the first 11 rounds of the final fight, you’ll need to box your way toward your authentic life for most of your Pursuit. Bobbing and weaving, throwing tactical punches, playing defense, avoiding getting knocked out, and getting back up when you do get knocked down.

But, there will be times you’ll need to stop boxing and fight for the authentic life you are pursuing. You’ll need to take risks, think outside the box, change directions, and not listen to the advice of people who aren’t living their authentic life.

You will need to be ferocious and go out there and be the strongest, bravest, and most determined version of your Self.

Ding, ding.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
