In the Know: Is it time for you to refresh and rebrand?

I am so excited to be bringing you this month’s edition focusing on the topic of personal branding.?To me, personal branding starts with self-awareness. Understanding your strengths, weaknesses, and your goals is integral to your brand. It is about cultivating your passions, finding your niche and being true to yourself.?

In a world where social media can consume us, it is important that whatever you do, you remain authentic. Personal branding is maintaining your image and ensuring that it is visible to others to help achieve your personal and professional goals.

?If you are anything like me and you sometimes shy away from social media, don’t worry! Personal branding does not have to only be in the form of Instagram or LinkedIn (although an online presence is helpful) but it can be through:

1. Networking: this includes attending events (like ours at the NYT network) that are key to your career or areas you want to know more about. Networking isn’t just about how many people you know, it’s about how many people know you and how well! You do not know where those conversations will take you.?
2. Content Creation: If you have a creative mind, you can leverage your innovative spirit and share content. This can be in the form of articles, stories or videos that effectively demonstrate your skills. We live in a digital age, and what you produce could reach thousands of people or just a couple of people who resonate with that topic too!
3. Collaborations: Partnering with professionals or brands that are like you can help reach new audiences, enhance your visibility, and scale new heights. As ambitious women we need to stop trying to do everything alone! ??

Most importantly, it is important that whatever you do, never lose sight of who you want to be. Take time to understand who you really are and the message you want to portray to the world.?

Event Recap: Women on Boards x NYT Network - 7 Reasons to Join a Board and Panel?????????

On Wednesday 1st May 2024 we held an enlightening virtual event, brought to you by Women on Boards UK and the Now You're Talking Network . We delved into the topic of board membership and its significance, particularly for young professionals.

The event included Lisa Jones ' illuminating talk on "7 Reasons to Join a Board" to the engaging panel discussion featuring Mary Kemi A. , Maya Ophelia , Rituja Ravikiran Rao and Stephanie Itimi .

On behalf of Women on Boards (WoB) and the Now You're Talking Network, we would like to thank you the panel and attendees. We hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did!
