Know thyself
So, you think you are good at observing others, but what about yourself?
In this journey we will take together, we will discuss how to deal with stereotypical career challenges, why they are difficult, and how to get out of them. And always, always, the first step to getting out or moving past anything is knowing yourself.
The same situation can be dealt with in multiple ways, and you are the only compass for the right solution for you. You are your biggest and mightiest tool. You are the only tool you have when you don't have money, knowledge, or connections (there's a Four Horses of the Apocalypse joke there, but I can't find it; let me know if you do). You will always have you, so get comfortable knowing you.
It takes time and practice. There are multiple tricks and tips. Try and stay with what feels good, natural, and quickly discard what feels like extra work (unless it is therapy. That will feel like work). Find ways to explore your body's natural rhythm. What's worse, sadness or nerves? What triggers you? What feelings do you attach to authority? What is the best way to get you out of fight/flight/freeze? What makes you feel shame? What are your boundaries? Your limits? (Yes, those are two different things).
As much time as you dedicate to staying on top of Figma updates, commit to a lifelong study of yourself. It will always be the first answer.
