Know how to save a life

I was surprised by a story on the news recently that the vast majority of Australians don’t know basic CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). Given that 75% of cardiac arrests occur in the home and the person who will most likely need CPR is a family member or close friend, I thought it’s worth using LinkedIn to advertise a current initiative to educate us. I hope you don’t mind, but what’s more important than the lives of our family and friends?

The current initiative employs fictional lawyer Cleaver Greene and cast from the hit TV series “Rake” to provide an amusing scenario where CPR is required to save a jury member. Have a look and refresh those CPR skills. It’s one of those things we hope we never have to do, but will be extremely grateful if we ever have to and we save a life.

Great campaign - I hold St John's First Aid certification that includes CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis training, and I have had to administer CPR in the workplace 5 times over the past 3 years, one of those was in a remote location. It is definitely and invaluable skill!
