Good morning! Mary Kemi A. here????. Welcome to our first newsletter of 2024. ??
I hope this message finds you in great spirits! It's been a while since we connected, and I'm here with an update on my funemployment journey. TL;DR I’ve been off work since end of November and thoroughly enjoying the transformative power of a well-deserved break.
In the beginning, it felt unnerving – the struggle to switch off from the hustle and the ever-present pressure to keep climbing the career ladder. But you know what? Alarm off. Slack muted. And in walks my new British Shorthair cat, fittingly named Barack (Obama) see below, to add a touch of feline wisdom to my days. I mean if you can’t learn rest and recuperation from a cat, who can you learn it from?!!
My afternoons now include catching-up on doctor and dentist appointments, rejuvenating mid-afternoon workouts, and indulging in the pleasure of reading fiction books with no time limit. I've updated my skincare routine, binge-watched both good and bad TV, and even dipped my toes into a bit of freelance work with some exciting fintech startups.
