Applications for Snap Up, Snap’s apprentice engineering rotational program, are now open!?

Snap Up is a full time 11 month engineering rotational program created by Snap to provide career development opportunities to new graduates with limited or no technical software engineering work experience. Each rotation provides the opportunity for apprentices to work on impactful projects and gain deeper knowledge and skills in specific areas.?

In this program, Apprentices can expect to receive on-the-job training and close mentorship opportunities, helping them maximize their opportunities to grow into professional engineering roles.

To qualify, applicants must be new grad grads with a BS/BA in MS or a technical field such as computer science OR equivalent experience (graduation between December 2022 - July 2023). And importantly, they must have limited to no relevant internship experience.?

NOTE: This program requires you to be in office at least four days a week at any one of our major engineering office locations: Santa Monica, New York City, Palo Alto, or Seattle.?

"It’s such a passion driven initiative; it gets people really excited when they hear about it. These are new grads who didn’t have the opportunity to intern in undergrad — maybe due to a career change, or a lack of resources, or because they were helping out at home — to get these resources to join Snap and learn who they are as a software engineer before they dive into a permanent role," explained Laila Forghani, Snap Up recruiter.?

Such an opportunity can be life changing — and not just for participants.

"We went on a recruiting tri last year with a handful of Snap Up graduates, and one of our apprentices from a few years ago brought his wife. They were overflowing with gratitude — 'Because of this, he got a job and we both were able to get healthcare and buy a place!' Both their lives were changed", said Laila.

"I joined Snap Up because coming straight out of college, it seemed to provide me the best avenue to learn and grow and make mistakes at the initial start of my career while also learning about how big tech companies operate.?

"Working in a company is different from small projects in college. This route has provided me more of an insight to how I want my career to look going forward, highlighting my strengths and weaknesses. I am learning better team skills, communication, and time management."

"My favorite thing about the program is navigating this start of my career with others who are also in the introductory stages of their career. I can learn from them and grow with them."?

"I joined Snap Up because it would allow me the opportunity to explore different software engineering teams and fields. The program gave me more exposure to what’s out there, and the confidence to try new technologies and projects. I’ve gained confidence working with different teams with different technical stacks, and improved my time management since each rotation was limited. These soft and hard skills will support me in the future in any role. I’m grateful for the opportunity to apply the different skills I gained from each team to my current role."?

"What I enjoyed most about working with Snap is the collaborative culture. I liked how if I ever needed help there was always someone willing to respond on a Slack thread. I liked how there was no judgment between team members and working in a supportive environment."
