Knokke Zoute Junior Roller Open 2024
During the recent tournament, the Knokke Zoute Junior Roller Open 2024, our two Belgian players once again showcased their strengths.
The most remarkable result came from Luna Gryp, who made her comeback after rehabilitating from a thigh fracture, and directly secured her spot in the final, where she defeated the top-seeded player, Rio Okano from Japan.
Alexander Lantermann, also performed strongly, only conceding to the world number 1, Austrian Maximilian Taucher, in the semifinals. Additionally, both players managed to advance to the doubles final!
Ivar van Rijt, seeded second, managed to take a convincing revenge on Maximilian Taucher after his lost final in Bolton, England, with a score of 6/3 - 6/3. With this victory, he becomes the new world number 2 and secures his participation in Roland Garros 2024.
With 27 participants, the Knokke Zoute Junior Roller Open 2024 is likely once again the largest wheelchair tennis tournament for juniors. I also want to take this opportunity to thank all our partners and tournament staff for their loyalty; thanks to them, we can offer such a tennis celebration to these exceptional athletes
