First impressions are hella important.

If you get a chance to meet someone for the first time, don't screw it up. If you do, it will take at least 35 positive interactions to get them to truly give you the time of day and... well, no one has time for that.

When you meet someone don't sell them on the first date. Smooth into it, invest in them and good results will happen.

Remember, when I was installing a dog door for Ashebrooke? Exactly, we don't want that ring ring situation to occur again. No more dropping in and selling when it's unnecessary. (Check it out if you mised the video replay or wanna see it again)

Slide it to the dm's. While I respect the crap out of that door-to-door salesman, he could have set it up so much better. This might be slightly creepy, but the data is out there. He could have searched online to find people posting about their new home purchase and engaged with the post and then connected with me. He could have sponsored a neighborhood bbq with beer and soda or actually showed up to my door with cupcakes. I mean, cupcakes are yummy.

Instead, on a brisk fall Wednesday evening at 8PM he got the ole get out my house approach.

Do the little things and the big transactions occur.

When it's awards season, ahem ahem, it's going on right now, be sure to type "your industry" + "your city" + "awards" into a search engine like Google or Bing. You will be shocked at what you can win and be as title filled as The Rock and Beyonce. If you qualify, apply.

Four ladies broadcasted their lives for seven years showcasing, "Thank you for being a friend". I had a friend who for years (maybe even a decade) never became a customer. There was really no chance, but that didn't mean I would give up on what I had developed. I invested and invested and invested in strengthening that relationship. When he took a new gig, one that I could be a customer from, guess who he called first? Nope, not The Ghostbuster. Zack Miller. And it's been a fat stack of benjamins.

Not being like every single other "salesperson" is the key to success. Most will call and annoy or deploy methodz that they despise. Don't put your prospects through what you cannot stand yourself. It's a losing strategy.

If you wanted to rewatch the broadcast, head here.

Friends forever.

Peace and pancakes,

Zack
