Knock Knock

Knock Knock

One of my daughters and I got into the game drive vehicle just after 6 am.? Unfortunately, the other one was a bit ill, so Mom had to stay behind to watch over her and could not join.? My camera at the ready, I mentioned to the game drive guide that it would be fantastic if we got to spot any cheetahs.? Fast forward 10 minutes.? As we turned the corner, there they were.? A mom and her 6 "teenagers".? Now, having a camera with you is one thing; pressing the shutter button at just the right time is the other key ingredient - the result was the photo below.

You can almost sense from how they looked at us that she was passing a friendly reminder from some distance away not to come any closer while the youngster was courageous within the comfort and protection of its mom - saying, I am not afraid of you.

So what does a photo of a cheetah and knocking on doors have in common? - opportunity. Opportunities are often unexpected guests, and those who are well-prepared are the ones who turn these moments into milestones. Being prepared doesn't mean predicting the future, but having the skills, mindset, and resources ready to make the most of what comes your way.

If I had not had my camera with me on the day, then I would not have been able to take the photo.? I did everything I could to place myself in the ideal situation, should we have the luck of spotting some cheetahs or even just one, to be able to take the picture.? Whether in your personal or professional life, readiness is critical to unlocking success - especially regarding career planning or personal development.? You have to ask yourself what you need to do to enable yourself to open that door when an opportunity comes knocking.? Will you have everything required to jump at it without hesitation?? And, as we all know, opportunity sometimes comes when you least expect it.?

As we enter the last few weeks of December, take the time to reflect and ask yourself what you need to prioritise in 2024 to enable you to open that door when you hear that expected or unexpected knock or even knock(s).

Another year has passed, and I also want to wish everyone a fantastic festive period.? May it be filled with precious and happy memories, and may 2024 be a Blessed year with good health, many opportunities, and prosperity.

Fantastic capture meneer. And 100% agree with your analogy. Just be prepared. Compliments of the season, continue to soak up all those memories with the family as you enjoy some much needed down time.
