KLEANLAND Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) for Food Processing Oily Smoke Control
I. Background of Project
Changsha Jueyi Food Co., Ltd. is a professional enterprise specializing in food production and processing. The company currently has two manual deep-frying machines in its workshop, mainly used for frying various types of food. Before being fried in high-temperature oil, the food is first blanched in water, which results in the production of a large amount of steam and oil fumes during frying. If these oil fumes are discharged directly without purification, they will not only affect the environmental hygiene of nearby residents but also cause significant environmental harm. Previously, the oil fumes were directly extracted through the rooftop ventilation system without any treatment. Your company places great importance on environmental protection and now plans to purify the oil fumes generated by these two manual deep-frying machines during the frying process.
II. Site Overview
Based on the on-site conditions and information provided by relevant personnel:
The company’s workshop has two manual deep-frying machines. The specifications of the oil pans are approximately 1.2m × 1.2m, and the exhaust duct dimensions are 700mm × 800mm. The rooftop terminal fan has the following parameters: 7.5KW, 24,344 m3/h, 693Pa.
Since the operation is manual, the generation of oil fumes is intermittent.
The temperature of the exhaust gas at the rooftop outlet is at ambient temperature.
III. Proposal Analysis?
The company’s workshop has two manual deep-frying machines. Before frying, the food is rinsed with water and then placed into the oil pan for frying. After a certain period, the fried food is removed for further processing. During frying, the moisture in the food generates a large amount of steam and oil fumes.
?The company has already installed smoke hoods to collect the fumes generated by the two deep-frying machines. The fumes are then transported through ducts to the rooftop, where an exhaust fan is used to extract and discharge them. Since the exhaust gas at the rooftop outlet is close to ambient temperature, there is no need for a cooling device. Instead, advanced high-voltage electrostatic purification technology will be used to adsorb the oil fumes. The purification system will utilize our centrally positioned wide-gap electrostatic oil fume purification equipment.
Our wide spacing?electrostatic purification equipment is designed with patented "electrostatic precipitator with a fire prevention mechanism", featuring high-voltage electrostatic purification technology, a 201 stainless steel exterior, and a 201 stainless steel wide spacing?electrostatic field for effective oil fume removal.
IV. Designed Treatment Process Flow
Detailed Process Description:?The exhaust fumes generated by the two deep-frying machines in the workshop are collected using a smoke hood and transported through ducts to the rooftop, where they are extracted by a fan.?The original fan will be relocated to the downstream end of the purification equipment, ensuring that the smoke first enters our centrally positioned wide-gap electrostatic oil fume purification system before being discharged.?Using high-voltage electrostatic technology, most of the oil fume particles in the exhaust gas are filtered out.?The treated exhaust gas is then extracted by the existing rooftop fan, achieving standard-compliant emissions.

V. Working Principle of KLEANLAND Electrostatic Precipitator?(ESP)
?An ESP?is a particles collection?device that uses electrostatic force to separate dust particles from the exhaust gas. In the treatment of?food processing?exhaust oily smoke, after the exhaust oily smoke enters the?ESP, the discharge electrode (corona electrode) discharges, causing the oily particles to be charged. The charged oily?particles move towards the collecting electrode (?anode collection electrode) under the action of the electric field force and adhere to it.?After the oily particles being collected by the ESP, the purified exhaust air can be discharged outdoors directly.?
VI. Advantages of KLEANLAND Electrostatic Precipitator?(ESP)
?High Dust Removal Efficiency:
KLEANLAND ESP?are highly effective at capturing small oily particles. They can achieve high dust removal efficiency for particles ranging from 0.1 microns to several tens of microns, with removal efficiency reaching 90% or even higher. KLEANLAND ESP?can significantly reduce the inhalable particulate matter emitted during food processing so as to improve the air quality.
Adaptability to Different Working Conditions:
KLEANLAND ESP?can adapt to varying exhaust oily smoke flow rates, temperatures, and particles?concentrations during the food processing?process. For example, when?the?exhaust oily smoke volume?change due to the production output of the exhaust air fluctuates, the system can still run?stably at a?good oily particles removal performance as long as the processing capacity is within the designed range. The system is also capable of handling exhaust oily smoke at higher temperatures (normally?a few hundred degrees Celsius, depending on equipment design and materials used).
Relatively Low Operating Costs:
Compared to dust removal equipment that requires frequent replacement of filter materials (e.g., baghouse filters, which need to be replaced periodically due to their limited lifetime), the main operating costs of KLEANLAND ESP?are?electricity consumption, equipment maintenance, and regular?manual?cleaning of collected dust. There are no high consumable replacement costs?so?it is more economical in the long term. The ESP structure is relatively stable and reliable, and with proper maintenance, it can operate stably for?years.
Compatibility with Other Processes:
KLEANLAND ESP?can easily be integrated with other exhaust air?treatment equipment. For example, if there is a need to treat organic volatile compounds in the exhaust oily smoke, an activated carbon adsorption unit or catalytic combustion device can be installed after the ESP. After dust removal, the?ESP?can prevent the dust?from clogging?the subsequent treatment equipment in order to?reach the?optimal?overall exhaust oily smoke purification?performance.
