Klaviyo drops a huge update ??

Your Weekly MegaBites Marketing Insights

Here’s everything you need to know about what's happening in the business and marketing world this week — in bite-sized pieces. No jargon, just value.

MegaBites features easy-to-use marketing tips to help you attract more customers, from the brains behind 2023's Marketing Agency of the Year.

BITE 1?? – Introducing Klaviyo Reviews

We all know the power of product reviews.

And if you’re using #Klaviyo for email marketing (which you should be, since it’s one of the top email marketing apps), then product reviews just became a whole lot more powerful.

The platform has just dropped a huge update: Klaviyo Reviews.

There are a lot of benefits to using Klayivo's new review platform, but one, in particular, gets me really excited: segmentation.

Typically, your product review data can’t be segmented (you can’t automatically split your customers into 3-stars and 5-stars, for instance). But now we can!

Let’s say an unhappy customer leaves a 2-star review. This could then sort them into the 2-star category, which would send them vouchers, discounts, or customer service-focused emails.

On the other end of the spectrum, you could send a thank you email to all of your 5-star customers. Since they’re already in love with the experience, this would be the perfect time to request some #UGC, for example (which 2-star reviewers would scoff at).

The other key benefits allow you to:

? Automate review requests with email and SMS flows

? Create a support ticket for negative reviews

? Reward reviewers with a unique coupon

? Sync reviews to Google Shopping

BITE 2?? – The 5 Golden Rules Of Loyalty Programs

We always chat a lot about getting new customers — but what about keeping them?

Retention is just as important as acquisition, if not more so! And there’s one particular method I want to focus on: loyalty programs.

Loyalty programs are the MVPs of #retention. You want them in your corner.?

A good #LoyaltyProgram should do 2 things:

1. Make your customers feel appreciated.

2. Entice your customer to make repeat purchases.

Yotpo research shows that loyalty programs make the majority of global shoppers (60%) more loyal to a brand, and furthermore, 52% of customers will join a loyalty program with a preferred company.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the 5 golden rules of loyalty programs

  1. Reward the actions you want your customers to take. Whether they're uploading UGC photos, leaving trust-building customer reviews, or subscribing to your SMS list, show them some love! The more important the action is to you, the more points and goodies you can dish out.
  2. Offer exclusive holiday rewards, products, add-ons, or double points to loyalty members.
  3. Incentivise referrals to lower your acquisition costs during and after BFCM and get more high-quality customers (or leads). We say high-quality, because there’s a good chance they share similar interests to the referring customer (similar demographics, similar circles).
  4. Simplify the process of joining and using your program. Instead of making it opt-in, make it opt-out at the checkout stage so that customers don't have to take any additional steps.
  5. Explore company partnerships with complementary (not competitive) brands. Not only does partnering with other businesses help introduce your customers to new products and services (which they’ll appreciate), but it introduces your products to other brands' customers too!

Last Friday, the team put on their thinking caps AND their dancing shoes for a bit of DRAG TRIVIA for our quarterly house event.?

We were split into four teams and competed in rounds of trivia, hosted by fabulous queens Atlanta Dusk and Eliza Lot. Each round would end in a dance battle and we discovered some hidden talents among the team (massive shout out Mo Asgari , our very own dancing KING!).?

Well done to the red team for taking the win and being our trivia masterminds.
