Kitten on the sunshade
The other day I heard a kitten's cry from outside my kitchen window. The first night I ignored it thinking may be some cat must have delivered some kittens. The next day I heard the kitten again but this time its cry was quite feeble and it sounded like a single kitten.
It disturbed me but I chose to ignore it. The following afternoon when I had gone down to the ground floor where my mum stays, she mentioned about one of the kitten that she feeds food was stuck on the sunshade of the neighbours house.
I had my lunch and went back to my floor but I just could not rest. It disturbed me that the poor little kitten was stuck for the last 2days. I decided to take the courage to go and rescue the poor little kitten. Seeing my enthusiasm my father decided to join me.
We went to the neighbours house and knocked at their door. There was no response. We noticed that the stairway to the terrace had free access from outside. We decided to trespass to rescue the poor little kitten.
Once we reached the terrace which was two floors up, I realised the sunshade was quite low from the terrace parapet wall. I wasn't sure if I could get down, let alone the fact how I will be able to get back up. Seeing me perplexed my dad in his supporting role said he will quickly go and get a ladder from our house.
My mum was watching from our backyard and encouraging me that I can do it. I looked down and saw a little black and white kitten looking up at us hearing all our conversation and getting quite worried. Are we friends or enemies! Since my dad was going to get the ladder I took courage and jumped to the sunshade. Almost filmy I landed close to the edge of the sunshade and stood still with a ninja pose taking some time to realise I would have just fallen off if I had landed one step ahead.
After all this stunt I turned around to rescue the poor little kitten, we both shared a quick glance at each other. I knew from the look the little one gave me, he wasn't sure if I was on his side. With all the courage that was inside of him, he jumped up the wall and reached to safety leaving me behind on the sunshade wondering how on earth will I get to safety now!

Meanwhile, my dad who had suggested he will go get the ladder was standing and watching me do this stunt and laughed seeing the kitten jump to safety. But his laughter was short lived when he saw my puffed up face. He soon ran around and searched the whole terrace and found a paint bucket. He lowered that to me and asked me to stand on it and climb over.
Poor me, who had not been into such stunts since my youth, just like the kitten, took all the courage inside of me with the need to get to safety jumped up with my leg raised perpendicular to my body and climbed to safety.
Once I was safe, I couldn't stop laughing and at the same time, I couldn't stop to wonder where did that courage come in me to jump down and also to climb back up! I realised the kitten was stuck there for 2 days and he never knew he had to just jump over to safety.
Certain situations come our way that pushes us to do that which we think is impossible. That pushes us to bring out the ability that is already instilled in us by God. We are all equipped to fight every battle that is thrown at us. We just need to know that we have it in us to get out victorious.
I was left with a gratefulness in my heart for all the situations that had pushed me in my life to do things I never thought I would do! The situations I thought was unfair was the same situation that made me who I have become. I was struggling with overcoming certain fears and this situation reminded me that I can do it.
The challenges is life only comes our way to make us Stronger! Victorious! Powerful!
