Kitchen Fire Safety, New Products and Team News: Firechief's May Content Roundup

May was a fantastic month here at Firechief? with great conversations around both domestic and commercial fire safety.

There’s plenty of important content we’re excited to share with you… ??

Catch up on some highlights below ??

This month, we also announced the creation of our new Senior Leadership Team!

The Senior Leadership team comprises 4 key players in the Firechief? team, who work together to drive the team forward in delivering our vision of a world where everyone can live and work free from the fear of fire.

Read our blog to get to know:

  • Laurie Pollard, Managing Director: Leading strategic growth and building a high-performance team.
  • Ian Poole, Sales & Marketing Director: Championing fire safety education and awareness.
  • Sean Hutchinson (MCIPS), Operations Director: Enhancing operations and developing strategic partnerships.
  • Chetan Thakar, Finance Director: Steering financial planning and sustainability.

Kitchens are the heart of the home but are also a common source of fire hazards.

Our latest blog on the topic of fire prevention in domestic kitchens goes over some essential tips to help prevent kitchen fires from occurring.

This blog includes:

  • Common Kitchen Fire Hazards: Identify risks like unattended cooking and flammable objects.
  • Preventative Measures: Steps that can be taken to minimise risks, from looking after appliances properly to safe cooking practices.
  • Safety Equipment: Recommendations on fire extinguishers, blankets, and alarms suited for kitchen environments.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Creating an action plan for you and your family.

We also talk about how innovation can help to improve kitchen fire safety, looking at the Firechief? Kitchen Stove Guard as a great example. The Stove Guard isolates power to a stove when it detects pre-fire conditions, preventing a fire from starting in the first place!

We also welcomed a new face to the team in May - say hello to Robert McPherson !

"We’re delighted to welcome Robert McPherson to the Firechief? team.

Coming to the Firechief? team with experience across warehouse and retail environments, Robert is joining the Supply Chain department as Supply Chain Assistant.

Robert is excited to grow with the business, expanding his knowledge of the fire industry and supporting the Supply Chain department where needed. He's looking forward to helping Firechief? grow and become as efficient as possible.

One fire safety tip that Robert would like to share with everyone is:

?? Make sure that you correctly dispose of batteries. People's lives are at stake!

Outside of work, Robert has recently taken up golfing and he's loving it! He's also a badminton club member, and when he's not playing sports, Robert enjoys walking with his dog Riko.

In 3 words, Robert describes himself as:

?? Faithful

?? Honest

?? Joyful

Welcome to the team, Robert!"
