The Kingdom Code: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Transformation

I was ticked off.

"Myself?!? Myself?!"

At 25 years old, I finally had the opportunity to sit with someone who was truly financially free. This wasn't about luxury cars or designer clothes for me. My frustration came from a deeper place - I wanted to help my blue-collar family, to better serve the youth I worked with as a chaplain and case manager, to spread the good news of The Creator's coming government that would make everything wrong with the world systems and physical earth right.

Here I was earning more money than I ever had before, yet it seemed for every extra dollar there were more expenses—car note, clothes for work, and on and on. I remember the stress of finances as a child and didn't want this to be my adult reality. I knew God had more for me, and it wasn't based on me having to depend on my parents for provision.

Shout out to the blue-collar work ethic my parents instilled in me that took our family off government assistance to putting me in an environment where I could succeed and be the first to graduate from college in my family. Dad and Mom together put that fire in me and the expectation that hard work, dedication, faith in God, and education were going to open doors for me to be exposed to a whole new world. They had done a great job; I was up to bat now, and as a first-generation godly college grad, I had a don't-quit mentality.

I was never satisfied as a child by the world the way it was handed to me. I had a burning desire to shape and beautify the planet in the particular areas I could and contribute what God had deposited in me. Scarcity was the reality—"money don't grow on trees," as the elders would say to caution us children from wanting too much.

Ironically, while money doesn't magically appear on trees ready for picking, the raw materials for physical currency—cotton and linen—do indeed grow on plants. This contradiction always struck me as I got older. Why was it that no matter when my world was experiencing layoffs, barriers, and challenges, there was a whole other side that continued to operate without limits? Still making major purchases, getting home renovations, and so on. It didn't even seem like they were working harder.

These questions drove me to meet with someone outside my comfort zone who was making moves. How could they meet with me in the middle of the day when I had to make sure it was a day off? Yet they had a structure and were earning money as they slept. I wanted that freedom—and it wasn't jewelry parties and flashy items. I wanted options.

And me? Let's just say there was frequently way more month left at the end of my money. How could I show others a better way when I hadn't found it myself?

So you can understand my frustration when, after asking what I needed to invest in that could create transformation—like, yesterday—his answer seemed like a cop-out.

The gentleman in his cashmere sweater leaned across the coffee shop table like he was about to reveal a state secret. I was all ears, completely locked in! I was anticipating the great awakening that would help me create businesses, generate jobs, and produce other job creators. Was he going to tell me about investment strategies? A business model that could lift entire neighborhoods?

I had my notepad ready, pen hovering over the paper.

"Psst!" he whispered dramatically. "YOURSELF!"

I frantically jotted it down without thinking, the muscle memory of taking notes kicking in before my brain could process what I'd heard.

As I looked at the single word on my notepad, I was stunned and appalled.

"What? What do you mean?" I stammered.

He actually pointed to his temple and said, "Your mind!"

"Your mind is what's keeping you away from what you desire," he continued, sitting back in his chair with the confidence of someone who knew he was right.

"You say you trust God to provide, right?" he asked.

"Yes," I nodded.

"When's the last time you studied the scriptures on money, investing, business, or management? The principles that can create transformation now?"

"Where..." I hesitated, genuinely confused. "Where would I even find that?"

I told him how I constantly read the Gospels and Romans, thinking that was surely enough.

"That's your problem," he said with a knowing smile. "You stay in the later part of the Bible. All the money stuff is introduced in those first 39 books."

"You mean..." I started, the realization dawning on me.

"Yes, young man," he nodded. "The Old Testament."

I looked at him with bewilderment.

"But isn't that old stuff?" I protested.

"Old stuff can be proven principles," he replied, his eyes twinkling with wisdom. "Ancient wisdom you can use today to transform not just your life, but the lives of everyone you're trying to reach."

This had me frustrated, stunned, and intrigued all at once. Why did it seem like a secret hidden in plain sight? All this time, and it was right here?

He cracked open his well-worn Bible and said, "'Know well the condition of thy flocks...'"

Then he flipped to another passage: "'God had not sent rain, for there was no man to work the soil...'"

As he continued sharing passage after passage, I felt something shift inside me. This wasn't just about personal wealth—it was about becoming an agent of change with the wisdom to truly help others. This was the beginning of something dynamic—I could sense it in my heart.

The Mindset Opportunity

The concept is powerful. What if a coffee shop meeting like this could change everything? What if ancient wisdom could provide the keys to modern transformation?

The real opportunity lies in a complete paradigm shift that could potentially transform entire communities. The wisdom about wealth creation, stewardship, planning, and legacy found in scripture could shift people from consumers with scarcity, lack, poverty, and survival to producers generating more than they could consume.

The root challenge in many communities isn't just economic systems or lack of opportunity. The deeper issue is our collective mindset. Many communities have been programmed to think about money and opportunity in ways that keep them struggling—living paycheck to paycheck and always feeling like financial freedom is for "other people."

Common limiting beliefs include:

  • Success means abandoning your community
  • The system is rigged, so why try
  • Financial wisdom isn't for "people like us"
  • Building businesses is for people with connections and privilege
  • We have to choose between doing good and doing well
  • Focusing on money means idolizing it and becoming greedy
  • Money itself is evil (which subconsciously drives us to get rid of it when we have it)

I didn't realize it at the time, but I was trapped in a perpetual hamster wheel—stuck in a hyperloop of working harder only to stay in the same place. I was discontent, irritated, and grating on the inside, feeling the constant friction of potential versus my current reality.

What I couldn't see then was that money itself isn't finite—if governments are printing it, it clearly doesn't have an end. Yet time and attention are two of our most underrated assets, which we often fail to properly invest in opportunities that bring acceleration.

There are entirely new industries that didn't even exist four years ago, bursting onto the scene and bubbling with opportunity for value creation, problem-solving, upskilling, and monetization. But to access these opportunities, our minds must first align with seeing God as He truly is—the divine Creator of abundance, not scarcity; the Author of "more than enough," not barely getting by; the Architect of overflow, not limitation.

These beliefs are invisible chains holding communities back. But the principles found in ancient texts challenge everything we think we know about prosperity and community transformation.

Romans 12:2 captures it perfectly: "Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." This isn't just spiritual—it's practical. The transformation of our communities begins with the transformation of our thinking.

From Scarcity to Abundance Mindset

The most important shift happens when moving from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset. Scripture is full of references to abundance, increase, and overflow—yet many communities operate with a theology of "just getting by."

Imagine teaching young people to see opportunity differently—not as something limited that must be fought over, but as something to be created through value, innovation, and service.

This mental transformation could lead to practical enterprise creation in communities:

  1. Tech innovation hubs producing drone repair businesses and 3D printing companies
  2. Blockchain enterprises tracking food production to ensure highest quality nutrition
  3. Advanced manufacturing facilities creating new transportation solutions and clean energy technologies
  4. Media production centers developing family-oriented video games and stage plays that strengthen community values
  5. Preventative healthcare companies offering nutrition and exercise solutions from youth to elderly
  6. Architectural firms designing beautiful neighborhoods with quality grocery stores, well-maintained parks, and state-of-the-art libraries

The potential transformation is profound. The hopelessness could fade. The belief that success means leaving the community behind could disappear. People might no longer feel trapped.

Communities could become free—not just financially, but mentally and emotionally as well. Free to be agents of change rather than victims of circumstance.

A Vision Worth Building

Imagine a different story for struggling communities. Where there are now payday loan centers, there could be free enterprise institutions creating real wealth. Where there are vacant lots, there could be innovation centers training youth in high-demand 21st century skills.

Young men who might otherwise be lost to the streets could become blockchain developers and drone technology experts. Young women could launch 3D printing jewelry businesses and advanced manufacturing companies. Former street hustlers could become tech entrepreneurs, creating apps that solve real community problems while generating substantial profit margins.

This isn't just about escaping poverty—it's about creating legacy. It's about young men building businesses instead of selling street pharmaceuticals or resorting to theft. It's about young women developing enterprises and beautifying their communities rather than turning to content creation on exploitative platforms that trade dignity for quick cash.

The Kingdom code reveals that we were never meant to just survive—we were designed to thrive and help others do the same. We were created to be stewards, builders, and creators.

The world doesn't need more consumers trapped in cycles of lack and dependency. The world needs more producers—visionaries who can see beyond current limitations to what could be.

Demonstrating Heaven's Government on Earth

This vision is about more than business success—it's about partnering with the Creator to demonstrate "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." This transformation begins in each individual who has ears to hear, who recognizes that true change starts within before expanding outward.

One thing's certain: we can't rely on earthly governments to hold the place in our lives, hearts, families, neighborhoods, and communities that was meant solely for the Creator. Our calling is to partner with Him to become His "word made flesh"—His hands and feet, His mouth and heart expressed through our noble, righteous commerce and enterprises.

When Yeshua taught us to pray for God's kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven, He was inviting us to preview that reality—to create businesses that demonstrate heavenly principles, to develop communities that exemplify divine order and abundance, to establish systems where justice and mercy flow together.

Anyone walking with Him has both the opportunity and responsibility as a good citizen of Heaven's economy to show forth "a more excellent way" with higher quality of life available when under God's leadership and honoring one another through His principles applied.

This transformation doesn't wait for political solutions or social programs. It begins now, with you and me, saying "yes" to being ambassadors of Heaven's government in the marketplace and beyond.

The Call to Action

This story hasn't been fully written yet. It's a vision waiting for champions to bring it to life. It's based on real principles, real challenges, and real possibilities—but it needs real people to grab hold of it and make it happen.

The question isn't whether these principles work. The question is: Will you be bold enough to apply them?

My heart is ready. Now comes the work. How about you?

Why not us? Why not us trusting God? Why not us doing it now in faith, living noble, prudent lives?

It all begins in the mind…
