Be The King Of Your Ocean

I love nature, especially the animals in the landscape. The big scary ones fascinate me the most. Lions, bears, gorillas and the sharks that dominate the oceans. If I knew for sure I wouldn't be attacked I would hug them. They're beautiful and majestic.
Most of my sightings have been from a distance or on nature channels though.
Because I've spent most of my time in South Louisiana, the only scary creature I've ever come face to face to is an alligator. Truly, face to face.
During a fishing trip with my family when I was around four years old, the toy I was playing with to keep me occupied fell into the water. No worries of danger with a fearless toddler spirit I jumped in the water to retrieve it with an alligator only a few feet away. I was determined. Nonetheless, it freaked everyone out, but without hesitation, my dad and uncle teamed up and jumped in to save me. Thank God! The recuse was successful, and forty-something years later, I'm still alive and kicking.
Later in life, I find myself taken in with the ocean and the creatures that occupy it. It's beautiful, and I'm pulled in with curiosity to learn more.
My interest in television these days is small but I do go all in at night during shark week on the Discovery Channel. At first, I didn't get the big deal, but now I'm hooked. With recent technology and brave divers, it's incredible how much more we know about sharks and the ocean.
Whales are cool too, in fact, they're my favorite but this is about sharks.
Sharks use what they have to survive and thrive in the mighty oceans with zillions of other creatures. Because they do, they've been around for millions of years.
Just like a shark, you and I were given everything we need to survive and thrive in the jungles of life. The only difference is we let fear of the unknown and excuses hold us back.
A shark doesn't wake up on a Monday morning and say "Shit it's Monday." No, instead they are up early, ready to chase their hunt reminding everyone they're a freaking shark!
Today, remind yourself who you are, go out and make an impact and be the king of your ocean!
It's our birthright to thrive in life.
As children, it's only when we became more aware of the outside world around us did we begin to experience fear, judgment, and intolerance. We were fearless and full of love because we didn't yet have the programming of dis-empowering beliefs that would hold us back in life. We had desires and because we didn't fear anything - we loved freely and thrived effortlessly.
If we had a desire, we didn't over think it, and we plunged forward. And we didn't feel a constant feeling of lacking.
Sometimes the things we desire seem to be lacking, but all that's ever lacking is our passion for making them happen.
Remember who you are today and that you have everything it takes to be a big player in the jungles of life, a powerhouse. Ignite your greatness within and illuminate the waters around you.
Make the sharks shake!
Make today beautiful and your ocean bigger.
As always, with love...

5 年Shark, right!
Life happens
5 年That was a great story, when I grew up my favorite pet was the mountain lion he was my best buddy. The funny thing is I was never afraid of dogs no matter how much they snarled and growled I would walk right up to them. I figured if I could handle a 235 lb cat they did not intimidate me LOL
