"The King of Similee"..

The Author's reading from 'Omni-novel' - "Other Worlds".. [ Simon Gabrielow].

I worked on this huge idea over several years and it was completely all typed up a couple of years back. The original, manuscript is contained within 7 volumes of books, with illustrations carefully pasted also into the written pages at the time of writing; others are illustrated on sheets of paper.

There's over 1400 handwritten pages in the manuscript pages, and over 1000 pages - once typed up neatly!

It is a wide-ranging idea, and ethos was to bring together several art forms - that of writing, illustrating, and musical thoughts, and related to other performance processes also, in such a way that the reader feels a smooth transition from one medium to another, with little 'join' between the artforms being too obvious.

Basically, the main character [ as there are several others in the novel] John Fastidious, is through no fault of his own, nor as moral lesson, finds himself projected up suddenly by a whirlwind into various other realms, or 'Worlds' - of which he had little knowledge even existed alongside his own .

There's talking skeletons, upside down villages, Green-man, and Gannet birds, Wood nymphs, all featured in the story idea.

I have filmed my own reading of an extract of part of the novel - Chapter 61 - which is called 'The King of Similee'.{The single additional 'e' at end of the word similee is deliberate not a misspelling!] which is now on my YouTube channel, where you can now hear the chapter being read out by myself! [with illustrations incorporated into it].

In chapter 61 - Is an island of the name 'Similee' in which our John Fastidious finds himself thrust onto in the idea. Watch and listen to the reading for the rather surprising appearance of the King's visage at the end!! And a tune also to complete it!

Not yet officially published - who has the ambition to publish this work? let me know.

Watch my reading of chapter 61 for free on this link to my own little channel now ? It is a pleasing way to spend only 18 minutes between your academic busy schedule! I can visit to do readings if you like? College or university to promote the idea of 'Omni novel' development.
