I'm not sure if you've ever watched On the road with Steve Hartman on CBS Mornings.
I began with one innocent, 5-minute Youtube video which turned into-
a full blown crying fest,
as I continued to binge watch,
one heart-warming episode,
after another.
Steve literally goes out on the road, searching for inspiring true stories of amazing humans all over our country. And when you think he can't possibly find another true story that will either challenge, inspire, encourage or leave your heart bursting with a renewed hope in humankind... he does.
He also has 2 adorable kids, Meryl and Emmett, who serve as his co-anchors on his Kindness 101 series. One of my favorite stories in particular (although it was really hard to choose) was this video: Kindness 101: A lesson in listening
This story is about Al, a regular guy, who simply decided to sit on a specific bench in Florida, early in the morning- before work... simply to listen to people... random people, who simply wanted to share their concerns, thoughts, troubles, beliefs, or just to feel seen and known.
No, he doesn't have a degree in therapy or even professional experience with counseling, per se, but he says that he found his purpose. All types of folks stand in line each morning to speak with him as he patiently and lovingly listens to each person.
