Kindness: A Key to Belonging

Reflecting on Yesterday's Celebration

Yesterday - we joined the global celebration of World Kindness Day. Initiated in 1997, by the World Kindness Movement, this special day reminds us of the importance of small acts of kindness that can have a profound impact on our communities.

One example: My family, like many others, have been supporting a scholarship fund in my husband's home country. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the impact of these scholarships on our youth.

Belonging and kindness are deeply intertwined, both fostering positive, supportive relationships and creating environments where people feel valued and accepted.

Reflecting on the past month, I'm grateful for the incredible work of our team. We launched the Young Talent Program, recognized by our global CEO as a valuable opportunity for internal talent development.?

We also focused on cross-functional development for our next generation of country managers through the LEAP program, a testament to the collaborative efforts of our Learning and Talent teams.

My signature initiative, Women in Leadership, celebrated its 6th edition this year. I entrusted my diversity partner with logistics and took full ownership of the program. We successfully hosted the event in Saudi Arabia, with international guests impressed by the Kingdom's progress.

People often ask me about balancing my corporate role with family life. Kindness, both towards myself and my loved ones is essential. During Dubai's cooler months, I find solace in nature through yoga, hiking, and running. This month, my three-year-old started skiing, and we're gearing up for the mountains. My husband is a supportive force, helping me relax and find balance. Our nanny is also a key contributor to our work-life harmony.?

In conclusion, kindness fosters belonging by creating an atmosphere of trust, acceptance, and inclusion. I'm grateful to my team for embodying these values every day!
