Kindness and Gratitude Always Win
Kindness is such a simple thing to do in life. Doing a nice thing can truly brighten someone's day. The quote above truly illustrates just how powerful a kind act can be in someone's life.
As you might know, I have a part time job delivering food. With COVID19 going around, people have been quite generous with tips. This past weekend, I had to make a delivery and the customer left quite a generous tip. In return, I did this:
The customer was so blown away by the kindness, that she called the store and told the manager just how great an act that was. Again, I am not posting this to gain applause or celebration. The moral of the story is that when you do something nice, do it without expectations. If you have expectations, you should not do it in the first place.
Similarly, being selfless is similar to being altruistic — another word for giving to others without looking for personal gain. There is too much negativity in this world and people are tweeting negative stuff left and right, the media plays both sides of the equation and just makes life unbearable at times.
Go back to Elementary school and remember that kindness always wins and teachers always told people to be kind to one another at recess.
I have been blessed to have so many awesome connections on LinkedIn. I love each of them because they bring so much positivity into this world. The one thing that I try to do is make sure that if I post something or write something, I never hold expectations. That would ultimately defeat my purpose of doing good in the first place. We need to embrace that mentality - do things without expectations. Doing so, frees our souls from holding on to things and allows us to just be ourselves.
I just wanted to share a few posts from some of the people on LinkedIn who I truly admire, respect, genuinely care about and think that they add such GREAT value to this world. They are phenomenal people and I am just truly blessed to know them.
None of them sell products or discuss ways to make a quick buck fast. They are genuine people with a great heart. That is why each of them hold a special place in my heart.
The reason for my big heart is simple: I was rescued from the streets of India as a baby, placed in an orphanage and adopted. The movie, Lion, starring Dev Patel is one movie that I truly resonate with because of the life story of Saroo Brierly. That act allows me to share my story to the world and it is part of the fuel that keeps me going every day.
The love that Michael Ray has for his daughter Maddie is priceless and he is truly an amazing dad. I love everything that he does daily for people and is a true example of an unconditional guy. Man should get a Congressional Medal of Honor (Paging 1600 Pennsylvania)
Marlena always has such positive posts and her posts always uplift my day. She has a great heart and is super cool to know. Definitely get to know her and just learn from her and it will be a blessing in your life... plus an inside joke that only she will get, Tom Cruise was sighted in China
Michelle hosts a Radio Podcast with Erin Moody. Both of these talented young women inspire hope to everyone who listens. They are humble servants and do a great job with all that they do on LinkedIn and beyond. They are a valuable asset in the Jacksonville, FL area. Reading their posts daily can give you hope and optimism for the future. They are both very kind and inspirational leaders.
Stephanie Middleton has such a "servant leader" heart. She is so humble, motivated and a go-getter. She recently raised money for the Alzheimers Association and participated in a walk which raised enough money for 2nd place in the Nation. It was my genuine pleasure to network on her behalf.
Donni has such a great outlook on life and her posts are so instrumental in making life meaningful. She is also a BUCKEYE so that is extra brownie points in my book. O-H!
Kylie Francis is just Wonder Woman and her posts and her content is great. She posts around the same time daily and she is super passionate about the work that she does. Her post about Kindness and Giving is so true and it relates well to this post. Great work as always Kylie.
Dr. Astera Brylka is such an amazing woman. Her story and outlook on life with resilience is great. I was humbled that she asked me to record a podcast with her this morning on resilience. We wanted to make the world aware of our challenges and offer hope to everyone who might face a difficult challenge in life.
Sarah Korenbilt is a phenomenal talent and is so motivated, so outgoing and so passionate about spreading love, hope and beauty to the world. Listen to her piano songs and yes, I am a fan of her Disney songs. Disney movies and songs are the best and they make us all feel like a kid again.
Gary Travis is a phenomenal person and his daily content and posts are so motivational and they make you feel great about yourself. His posts inspire us to change our ways and look for new ways to tackle life. Kudos Gary for being such an inspiration from the Windy City.
Larry Li is such a great person. He has a great passion for life and I am just blessed to know him. He is so humble, so thankful and offers all of us hope everyday. His posts are so great and they truly make us take a step back and be thankful for our lives that we live today.
I just wanted to take the time to thank some of my LinkedIn connections for their amazing posts this week and how inspirational it was to me on a personal level and I wanted to encourage everyone that Kindness and Generosity always win (K. Francis post). Make sure that we build each other up on LinkedIn and make sure that we do all we can to rise up from COVID19 and make our world a great place yet again.
