Eight amazing men have already joined The Maximized Man Group Coaching Program and we still have TWO WEEKS until we launch!??Learn more?HERE?and to sign up and JOIN US!?

We all say we want to live holistically, but don't have a game plan to make it happen.?Here are a few starting tips...

  • Step 1 - identify the areas of life you want to thrive in
  • Step 2 - develop a game plan to get an A grade in each area

It's time to build (and lead) the life you want.?The Maximized Man Program can help.??

Here's the breakdown by week:?

  • Week 1 - Family (always first)
  • Week 2 - Fitness (physical and mental)
  • Week 3 - Finance (beyond money, life wealth)
  • Week 4 - Food (breaking bread = relationships)
  • Week 5 - Fashion (confidence and presence)
  • Week 6 - Fun (without it, what's the point?)
  • Week 7 - Power of Playing Offense master class
  • Week 8 - Live and lead ON PURPOSE

I'll be leading weeks 1-6 and my good friend, best selling author and 7-figure Keynote Speaker Paul Epstein will bring it home in weeks 7-8!??

One question i've been asked is "What if I can't make all of the calls??(ONE per week for eight weeks).?All calls will be recorded so you'll have access to listen/watch them at any time!??

Alright...Here we go?

It Kinda Makes You Wonder....

I'm in Boulder, Colorado with my son right now.?Actually, not with him "right now" because he slept in a dorm with a friend after going to his first frat party last night; which I'm certain is a topic for another Sunday's newsletter but i'll sit on this for a bit or at least until I get the opportunity to drill him with questions on the flight home so I can gather more content and he can't escape...

I'm sitting in a terrific little coffee, juice and organic foods shop on Pearl Street called Wonder.?If you're ever in Boulder, head over to Pearl Street and check it out.?There's a lot of great places on this walking mall part of the street.??

Logging onto the wifi I had to click on "Kinda Makes You Wonder"...No password required (thank you for that!).??

It got me wondering...

I wonder what would happen if I got up an hour earlier.??

I wonder what would happen if I got to bed an hour earlier.?

I wonder what would happen if I signed up for that event.?

I wonder what would happen if I reached out to that person.

I wonder what would happen if I started kissing my wife again every morning.??

I wonder what would happen if I took the time to talk to each of my boys 1:1 each night.??

I wonder what would happen if I tried to launch a course....

While I still very much wonder about a wide variety of things and purposefully test the balance of embracing curiosity and maintaining focus on doing less better in my life, I can attest to one core belief...??

EVERYTHING improves when you just start.?

I have yet to regret starting anything.??I may not have always made the right choices or gotten the results I'd hoped for, but I've always felt good about the fact that I at least tried.?

In most cases, I wished I'd started sooner!?

And with that...

I don't watch much TV or read much news to be honest.?It brings me down.??I did of course hear about "The slap" at the Oscars and have heard a number of different takes on it.?I'm not interested in really going down that rabbit hole, however what landed with me is the fact that? Will Smith snapped like a man in the middle of his midlife crisis.??

His wife's been all over TV talking about her affairs, transgressions and health issues, at 53 he copped to being in the worst shape of his life, he's under constant scrutiny, public and private, folks making all sorts of assumptions and judgements, constantly being forced to defend, explain and talk about his life, feelings, family.?Making a ton of money and yet not being happy and having much fun…hmmm...Remove the word "celebrity" from this and he sounds like a lot of other guys I know, hear from and see out there...

So when another man cracks a relatively innocuous joke at your wife’s expense on national television, ya just may feel like slapping the shit out of that guy…Which in this case he did.?

I’m not justifying the slap.?I’m not getting into handling or mishandling of the entire situation, I’m gonna stay in my lane;?a midlife male who’s clearly having challenges in multiple areas of his life.?

Here's the takeaway:?Don’t wait until you snap and slap to start making some changes.?

Don't wait to start asking for and getting some help.?

Stop thinking that you can handle it and that you “got this” because whether it happens at the Oscar’s in front of millions, in your office where it could end up costing you your job, on a little league field where you could make a fool out of yourself or in your house where it could cost you your family…It'll be too late.??

CORE TOPICS + DETAILS:

[12:49] -?The Gap of Authenticity

Closing the distance between who you are and who you want to be

The authenticity gap describes the difference between who you are in your personal life and who you are in your career. The more you can bring those two ‘yous’ into alignment, the more purpose and fulfillment you’ll feel. Is your work self doing things that your ‘real life’ self wouldn’t approve of? Then it may be time to make a change.

[20:21] -?Finding Your Tribe

The people you surround yourself with define you

The tribe you surround yourself with— whether it’s at home, at work, in some recreational club, at church, or elsewhere— can mean all the difference between a life that feels stuck and a life of momentum and purpose. Help the people around you, allow them to help you, and watch how your life and career flourish in ways you never could have expected.

[26:15] -?Putting in the Reps

What you do when the cameras are off

Greg Scheinman has achieved an uncommonly successful life, but he’s done it by doing a few common things very, very consistently. In fitness parlance, they call it ‘putting in the reps.’ In life, these reps are the small positive habits, done day-in and day-out, that add up to monumental change over time.

[35:52] -?The Six Fs

Greg’s framework for joy and success in middle age

Greg’s message for the Midlife Male is built around the six Fs— family, fitness, finance, food, fashion, and fun. He notes that you can’t simply pursue one of these six at the abandonment of all others. It’s only by bringing the various parts of your life into harmony that you can find true joy and fulfillment— in middle age or at any age.

[46:43] -?The Power of One Step

There’s no perfect time to start except right now

“It’s never too late to make changes,” Greg says. All it takes is for you to decide you want to be a little bit better today than yesterday. Read one more page. Walk up and down your block a few times. There’s no magic, no snap of the fingers, no secret sauce. Just small decisions that lead up to big transformations.
