The Kind of Photographer I am
Every day I have to get re-inspired. And that re-inspiration comes from you, the people I’ve met and photographed. All it really takes is a glance at your face to remember why. It’s as if you’re saying ‘Come on, you can do this’. And I need your support. I’m quite fragile and full of doubt. Being the kind of photographer that I am is not easy.
I can’t do headshots. I can’t do passport photos. I can’t do anything fake. It has to be real, I have to really feel and see the person I’m working with. And not everyone wants this, I know. Not everyone wants to be revealed. But I got into this business to see people. I mean really see them for who they are. And that means a little extra. That means going to 11.
All it really means is getting to know one another. Building a friendship. The foundation of a friendship. It’s nothing to be scared of. You let your doctor and your dentist put their hands all over you. I’m not asking for that. All I’m asking is that you tell me your name. And we take it from there.
