Kim (previously Presley) Rowland: A Journey of Over 20 Years in the HTM Industry When I was first hired into the HTM industry more than 20 years ago, I never imagined how fulfilling this journey would be or the doors it would open. That day marked the beginning of a path that has allowed me to grow, connect, and give back in ways that continue to inspire me. The opportunities I’ve had—the people I’ve met, the innovations I’ve witnessed, and the challenges I’ve faced—have all been milestones leading me to an incredibly rewarding career.

Biggest Accomplishment and Proudest Moments Looking back, my entire career roadmap is filled with twists and turns that have brought me to a place of true pride in the job I get to do, the people I get to meet, and the person I get to be. My biggest accomplishment isn’t a single moment or milestone—it’s the ongoing journey and growth I’ve achieved along the way. Proving to myself that, by asking the right questions, connecting with good people, and understanding that my progress is “me vs. me” has been transformative. Learning to change the conversation in my head from comparison to self-development has allowed me to thrive in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

The Meaning Behind This TechNation Award Nomination Life is a team sport, and its strength lies in collaboration. I never pursued the idea of being an “influencer,” but rather, my goal has always been to foster connections—linking people to resources and opportunities that enrich our industry and each other. I’m incredibly fortunate to work with a team that supports one another’s strengths and encourages growth, and it has allowed me to integrate what I love—creativity, people, and problem-solving—into a career I’m passionate about. Being able to champion our product line, support the HTM community, and especially encourage women and new professionals in the field makes my work both fun and fulfilling. Each step in my career, from ground level up, has deepened my appreciation for this industry. Being nominated and voted into the top 5 “Industry Influencers of the Year” is truly an honor. Beyond personal recognition, it provides a valuable platform to connect with and inspire other achievers in HTM who are eager to make a difference.
