Kiln feed & discharge Iteca seal installation – Cimerwa Rwanda

Working up in Africa is not for sussies as the logistics behind a job can be a nightmare but Robtek loves a good challenge.

This time it was a Feed and discharge seal that needed to be installed and it would be a month-long job. We would be using an Iteca specialist to assist with the installation so we would be joining forces for this job.

Two teams were sent up to Rwanda on the 10th May 2021 and on the 11th May, they began stripping and removing old seals at feed and discharge ends.?And removed the discharge end air cowl, this took our team up to the 18th of May.

The next 2 weeks were going to be purely for the installation of the new seals which was done under the supervision of the Iteca Specialists, the items to be completed were:

-???????Installation of the new aircowl at the discharge end

-???????Installation of the new feed end Iteca seal

-???????Installation of the new discharge end Iteca seal

-???????Installation and tie in of all the new ducting and fans for feed and discharge seals.

The first team was de-established on the 4th of June followed by the 2nd team on the 6th of June. The 3rd team stayed on site for the commissioning.
