The killer question every candidate should finish their interview with

Currently searching for a new role & getting to the end of an interview and being asked by the interviewer "any questions" - here's the best question you can ask in an this scenario that will transform the way your interviews are left ....

? "Was there anything I haven't covered for you or is there anything you're unsure of when deciding if I'm right for this role" ?

This question is a great way to end an interview.

Why? ... Every interviewer is different and looks for something different.

??? Some look for enthusiasm, attitude and soft skills

??? Some look for similar experience and projects in your past

??? Some look to screen candidates against a tick list of things they think you should have for the role

There’s a tonne of different interview styles, thought processes and approaches. You don’t always know what the interviewer is looking for in you and you can't always read what they're thinking ... Why guess, ask the question!

This can go one of 2 ways:

1 - You’ve smashed the interview and covered off everything they wanted. They tell you this which leaves you feeling great about the interview you've just done. The interviewer telling you that there was nothing they were unsure on also re-confirms this in their own mind and prevents any wavering from them down the line when it’s not so fresh in their mind. It leaves both parties with a confidence that you can do the job and also leads nicely into the question "So what happens next" getting the ball rolling on any potential offer or salary negotiations.

2 - If you haven't covered something you've now given yourself an opportunity to address it directly. It's very very common that someone has X,Y,Z skills or experience but gets rejected for not having it because they didn't get a chance to display this in the interview. Hopefully in this scenario the employer replies with "I was a little unsure about your experience with X" giving you a direct opportunity to address this concern and demonstrate your experience/skill with that specific tool/technology. You can tailor answers directly to what the interviewer is looking for and ensure you are leaving them with confidence in you. ?

I always advice people to have 3-5 questions for the interviewer heading into an interview but no matter the role or the interview I would always finish up with this.
