FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Bad Demos Can Kill a Sale. You Can Do Better.
Technology product demos are a blessing and a curse. In event tech, they are mostly a curse. They start well enough—hopeful, exciting, food for the curious—but can also make your ears and eyes bleed. There are ways to make them better.

TECH [UP]DATE
EventMobi recently updated its onsite apps and features for event organizers planning in-person meetings and conferences.
The Check-in App lets planners manage event check-ins from any smartphone or tablet, or keep traffic flowing with self check-in kiosks.
EventMobi’s fully-managed Live Badge Printing solution offers attendees an on-demand badging experience, and accommodates late registrations and walk-ins.
The company’s Lead Capture App enables sponsors to fully control their lead capture process with custom lead qualifiers, star ratings, and notes for seamless follow-up, while booth staff can capture attendee data by instantly scanning badges from any mobile device.

11 个月Dahlia El Gazzar - EWD always great to get reminders of how to improve. It’s so easy to be a Vanna White with demos- just turning the letters. Sometimes it’s hard to ask a planner for two meetings- one to learn more and one for the actual demo. I do find it more productive if we can get that first call. So, planners- my ask of you is to pad your time line or make time to speak with your potential future partner. We’ll all get more out of it.

1 年The 7 minute mark. If they can make it past that without my eyes drooping, then they are doing great. Very few make it that far.

1 年Love this Dahlia. We have been looking at this, as we have been guilty of the long demos before! When there is a lot of functionality to show, it easy to fall into the trap of trying to show it all. The way forwards seems to be focussing on the immediate wish list, giving a top level overview of everything else and come back to the rest of the features as/when they become more relevant.
