Yeah right...
We all have dreams.
Some have small dreams. You may have BIG dreams.
For someone, getting a 20K per month job could be a dream. For someone, having recognition at the workplace could be a dream. Some may just be satisfied by having a few good relationships.
Well, we must know what we aspire for as we continue to live our regular life...
However, there comes a time when dreams start to fade away while you are juggling multiple balls in your hands...
I understand it very well because I had many dreams but during my corporate journey, dreams started to fade and I went on becoming very sad...
Gradually, I realised I was losing my passion or even the fire inside me was cooling down day by day...
Not only me... many of my colleagues were feeling the same BUT because of this one thing, they kept thinking and believing...
For some reason, I really COULDN'T agree with their ideology...
My seniors even asked me to reconsider my decision to quit my job because according to everyone (except myself) my job and life were a dream come true for any professional who has a degree and comes from a small town...
I used to listen to them but none of the answers gave me a satisfactory response which I could digest.
You may think I am crazy. YES, I AM!
Probably, that's the reason I am not there anymore and always moving toward my dreams...
While my amazing colleagues still thinking...
NO, my friend. That's not the case.
There was ONLY one thing that is different between me and my colleagues.
And this one reason KILLED their dreams and killing your dreams TOO.
and that one thing is -
COMFORT ZONE.
Come'on Shubham... Ye kya hai. Comfort zone?
Yes, my dear friend. The Comfort zone kills more dreams than anything you could ever possibly imagine.
Let me explain it further.
When you are in a comfortable job, where you are working in BIG offices, interacting with international or renowned clients, receiving a monthly salary, getting that company-funded expensive laptop (you can show it off to family or outside), charging a little bit more for your food and cab bills to the employer, putting company name on LinkedIn headline to showcase that you work with a BIG brand and what not...
JI HAA.... Ye sabhi ko acha lagta hai. Bahut acha lagta hai.
And this sense of having things because of your job makes you comfortable.
Then you start to think, if I leave my job, I will lose ALL this fun in life.
Then you decide to work a couple of months more... and then gradually you see a promotion coming your way sooner...

You decide to extend your tenure for that promotion and you wait.
Once you get the promotion, now you are MORE motivated to work towards SOMEONE ELSE'S dream because they will be paying you more and gradually...
It leads to killing your OWN dreams that were waiting for you thinking you would listen to them more than your comfort zone in that job.
Listen, I am not saying quit your job right now. NOT RIGHT NOW unless you have got a plan.
BUT the question -
DO you have an inclination towards your dreams or you have forgotten those dreams which you saw when you were a child...
Before I conclude, you may want to read this poem. (In case you don't understand hindi, you may put it on google translator to convert to your convenient language)

......
DON'T let your dreams die because of your temporary comfort zone.
You HAD dreams. You had the fire. Still, there is a time to do something about it before the entire fire is gone.
If you are ready to move toward your dreams and not sure where to start, you may consider having a copy of my book "You Are Born To Thrive" and starting there.
Keep thriving,
Shubham
