Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro

My brother has organized a trip next July (2024) for a climb of Kilimanjaro.

I read the instructions and my conclusion was this: “Not Everest, but not a joke.”

So I’ve started running 3 miles per day and walking 2 miles per day with a 20 pound weight vest, plus lifting 3 times per week.

But I’ve also increased my meditation times.

Because from what I hear, the bulk of the challenge isn’t really physical (though that’s not easy), it’s mental.

Hours of walking, often in quietude.

A lot of time to reflect and contemplate.

Preparing for that.

There’s a life lesson in here, I suspect.
