KidsOut Fundraising initiative!

As per my post at the start of lockdown, Charities have been hard hit. They are simply unable to easily raised funds for the very people they exist for, which is very difficult to take in.

The team at KidsOut are being particularly proactive, with lots of new ideas coming right, left and centre. It has to be said that the charity has been helped along by the generosity and inventiveness of their friends (the team at 4 Pump Court for example).

So, KidsOut will soon be launching KidsIn (because we can't go out) 8,000. If you don't know about the work that KidsOut does, take a look at www.kidsout.org.uk and all will be revealed. If you know already about their amazing work, then what follows will make complete sense. So here goes;

Aim of KidsIn 8,000

-         To get individuals and companies involved with helping KidsIn raise £80,000.

-         KidsIn are offering every family in refuge (8000 mothers and children) the chance to go to the cinema, with snacks provided, as soon as restrictions are lifted.

-         The challenge will tie in with The National Rotary KidsOut Day on the 8th June 2020 which has been cancelled due to current circumstances.

-         As working restrictions may have been lifted, the challenge will be taking place from Saturday 6th- Saturday 13th June 2020 giving supporters the chance to do it in one day or throughout that week.

 How to get involved

-         Individuals/companies can choose any activity that they can dream up (it doesn’t have to be exercise!) around the numbers 8, 80, 800 or 8,000. The only requirement is that you must follow Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing. Some examples could be:

o  8km/8mi run

o  8,000 steps in the week/a day

o  Walk from London United Kingdom to West Papua (8,040mi). Can divvy up miles between employees.

o  8 x 1,000 jigsaws

o  Make 80 Origami designs in 8 days

o  Run 8 quizzes for your family/friends/co-workers and donate to enter

-         Individuals/companies will need to set up their Charity Checkout fundraising page, or they can donate towards the KidsIn Team who will be taking part.

-         KidsIn will be doing social media around the challenge and would ask supporters to get involved with @kidsout and #KidsIn8000 on all social media networks.

Recently KidsIn took part in the 2.6 challenge. This was instead of the London Marathon which took place on Sunday 26th April. From that we have raised over £17,000 and still rising.

KidsIn 8,000 is a great way for supporters and companies to get involved from the safety of their home, and to do something together.
