Come with me on a journey a few years from now. John Doe, a child, has a digital medical twin and a digital learning twin. He's also created digital identities online for AI/AR/VR games. At school, he also uses AI/AR/VR technology where he has digital identities. Commercial databases have behavioral/biometric data on him from before he was born. Tragically, he dies, and his parents buy a service where they can interact with John digitally using AI/VR.
Who controls John's digital identities and data? Do some of them require legal identities? What happens to John's digital identities and data after he dies? That's what this post examines.

Benefits of a Rethought Legal Identity
First, skim this story to illustrate how the architecture works for a citizen, “An Identity Day in the Life of Jane Doe”. Then skim to page 35 in this doc to see a pic displaying how Jane Doe leverages the new legal toolkit allowing her to manage her son John Doe, and his learning assistant bot "AssitBot" with the school.
Let's Use a Few Use Cases Illustrating This:
John Doe Wants to Use His Home AI/VR Environment
John's parents/legal guardians use their PIAM to control John's PIAM/LSSI allowing for only his anonymous legal identity to be used.
John Doe's Enrolled in School
John's parents first use their PIAM/LSSI to prove their legal identities, and then John's PIAM/LSSI to prove his. They then grant the school the ability to use John's anonymous legal identity, on a time limited basis (i.e. to the end of the school year), to use in any AI/AR/VR environments. Any exceptions to this must be approved each time by his parents.
John Takes His Learning Assistant Bot to School
John takes his learning assistant bot, AssistBot, to school with him (to see an early example of this look at QT Robot). The school integrates AssistBot with their LMS (Learning Management System).
What John and AssistBot can and can't do with their legal identities, is governed by capability files (authorization rights) issued by John's mother, Jane Doe, from her PIAM to John's PIAM and on to AssistBot, all of which impacts the LMS.
John's Parents Leave Him With His Grandparents For a Month
John Doe's parents grant his grandparents the ability to use John Doe's PIAM/LSSI, both physically and digitally, on a limited basis, for a month, while they're away. The grandparents can use this when John wants to play online with some new friends in the neighborhood or, if they take him to the hospital, etc.
John Doe Creates a Virtual Self
Depending on the risk, John Doe might have to register digital selves. For example, he might have a virtual self he uses at school or, when he becomes older, his parents/legal guardians might want to grant him more physical/digital legal freedom, e.g. shopping for himself. Both the school and the merchants want to know it's John Doe's legal virtual self they're interacting with. The parents/legal guardians would then register a virtual self for John, in a new age Civil Registration Vital Statistics (CRVS), which is tied to his SOLICT and hence his LSSI devices.
John Tries to Enter A VR Sex Environment
John has a friend Sally Smith who's of age of consent. Sally logs on using her LSSI and passes the equipment to John. In the future, I can see AI/VR equipment vendors, using behavioral/biometric sensors to detect the equipment has been passed to others. John would then be forced to produce his digital LSSI proving he's of age of consent. Skim “Kids, Sex, Metaverses & Privacy”.
John Tragically Dies
New laws/regulations would be created governing use of John's SOLICT/LSSI devices, both physically and digitally, by executors, government agencies, etc. The new age Civil Registration Vital Statistics system would automatically notify parties who have some kind of commercial relationship with John Doe's legal digital self. The laws would also restrict how Jane Doe's data can be used by others.

It Must Work Globally
John Doe wants to apply for a job online. The employer requires her to prove him legal identity, provide them with proof he's been Covid vaccinated, as well as his education credentials. John easily does this, with his consent, using his LSSI device. The consent agreement between him and the potential employer is automatically stored in John's SOLICT.

Science Fiction Becomes Reality
As the planet shrinks due to technology, it offers new ways of living, allowing kids to do things that once would have seemed like science fiction. Like what? Consider this vision...
When John Doe's a toddler, his parents take him to a local health clinic. A physical bot does a learning assessment on him, taking in a wide range of data, creating for John his "DLT" (Digital Learning Twin). This in turn creates John's IEP (Individualized Education Plan). The assessment can pick up early on any learning challenges like ADHD or ASD, as well as any special learning abilities she might have.
The health clinic sends home with John a learning assistant bot, "AssistBot". This bot assists John is learning, continually updating his DLT and IEP. It might or might not call in physical human learning specialists to his home to assist him.
When John enters school, her parents give their consent for John's DLT and IEP to be integrated with the school's LMS (Learning Management System). As well, the parents send AssistBot to school with John, which is also integrated into the LMS.
The school now intimately knows John's learning abilities from day one. They're able to create highly tailored learning experiences for her.

Kids Require A New Legal Toolkit Able To Protect Them
Add all the above up, and one can easily see we're living in a major time of change. Our old laws and legal identity toolkit now no longer works.
We need a new legal reality of being able to effectively protect children, their digital identities and their data. SOLICT, LSSI, PIAM and a rethought CRVS are key components in achieving this.
