To The Kid In All Of Us

I don't want to dance like a sexualized, erotic woman.

Rubbing my body. Moaning and groaning.

I want to dance like a kid,

To flail my arms and be weird,

To just let the animal go.

To rawr, yell, scream out, laugh, and cry.

I want to be me.

In every way, every angle, every imperfection.

I want to be "too big".

I want to thrive in the chaos.

I want to communicate with whatever is out there without judgement.

I don't care about time or rules or anything I'm supposed to care about.

I'm just being, receiving, flowing...

Like a dust ball whirling through space.

Nothing's real but everything's real.

I'm attached.

I'm detached.

I'm a pure-hearted paradox waiting on no one and nothing.

I'm a kid at heart, forever.

That is my dance.

That my dear Dana Kippel is an important step in life, boxing as you say, is a quite frightening as 99% of the time we start in the world packaged, influenced and trained. I was asked once what the purpose of life is, and my answer is, to deconstruct your conditioning and find your true self prior to influence.

Really beautiful. I think we all fight so hard as kids to become adults to prove our worth according to societal expectations, and then as we hit our midpoint we begin to drift back into wanting to regain our youthful blithe spirit. I love this dance! Really nice Dana. Thanks for sharing your dance.
