Kickstarting careers: The GIT Program in Port Elizabeth, South Africa

We are celebrating the halfway mark of our Graduate in Training (GIT) Program with which we transform fresh graduates into professionals.

Each year, fresh graduates embark on a twelve-month journey through our “Graduate in Training Program” (GIT) in Port Elizabeth. Despite their limited work experience, they are given a real chance to grow. These talented individuals are placed in various departments of our company, for example Human Resources, Quality or Logistics.

In July we are celebrating the halfway mark of our Graduate in Training (GIT) Program with which we transform fresh graduates into professionals.

What is special about the program?

This program is not just about technical know-how; it′s about shaping well-rounded professionals. From mastering industry-specific projects to understanding the nuances of teamwork – our integrated approach, which includes mentoring, coaching, and on-the-job training, immerses these future employees in the professional environment. And here's the exciting part: upon completion of their training, they are first in line to fill vacancies within our team of #DedicatedPeople.

Andisiwe, a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, currently working in our Manufacturing Engineering department, says:

“I am fascinated by all the technology and advancements and eager to learn how it integrates into the production processes and the final products.”?

Pamela, a recent graduate with a diploma in Human Resources, is currently thriving in her role in the HR department. She states:

"Everyone is involved in my learning at Purem by Ebersp?cher and I welcome the knowledge I gain from interacting with colleagues at all levels of the organization."

Celebrating the 6-Month Milestone

Reaching the halfway mark in our GIT program is not just a milestone worth celebrating, but a crucial point of reflection and learning for our graduates. Therefore, we encourage them to present to our management team what they've learned, experienced, and achieved during the first six months of the program.

This is an opportunity not just to showcase their growth, but also for us, as a team, to provide feedback and guidance for the next phase of their journey.

We are excited to see where the rest of the year will take our current GIT participants!

Trust, Respect, and Tolerance: Our Core Values

As an employer, we are committed to three core values: trust, respect, and tolerance. We believe in giving young graduates a chance — a platform to gain invaluable work experience. It’s not just about filling roles; it’s about nurturing potential and shaping the future.
