Kickstarter is Awesome for Early Feedback

We were pretty clear in our Kickstarter campaign that our goal was not to hit a big number, but to acquire early adopters to get feedback on our first Excy total body exercise cycling systems before scaling production. The goal was to get real customer feedback because I am personally bootstrapping the first phase of this company and could not afford to get the software or the hardware wrong (I promised my husband I wouldn't bankrupt us). Kickstarter can obviously be a wonderful way to access funds and the money we raised was helpful. But pushing our reviews page live today with real customer reviews felt pretty darn good! Kickstarter was a great way to acquire those first customers! Now, onto shipping the new systems that incorporates feedback from those early customers. Excited to start to see pre-orders come in as well (accepting pre-orders through March 31).

That's a great reason to use Kickstarter and I think more startups should think about how to connect with real users so they can get their feedback. It's fantastic that you can already incorporate what you're learning from customers. I'm enjoying learning about your journey as a founder so thanks for posting.
