Kickstart 2020 with these 20 Rules

Kickstart 2020 with these 20 Rules

As you look ahead and prepare for 2020, I encourage you to keep these 20 perspectives, mindsets, and rules top of mind:

1. Being extraordinary (or achieving something extraordinary) is not about doing something grandiose. It’s about mastering the fundamentals and doing the little things right consistently.

2. If you want to be impactful and influential, aim to serve as many people as you can as often as you can without expecting anything in return.

3. If you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t take care of others (personally or professionally). Self-care needs to be a non-negotiable.

4. Hope is not a plan.

5. Unwavering commitment is rarely convenient and it’s often uncomfortable... but it’s vital.

6. Eliminate complaining, making excuses, and blaming other people. You will immediately become happier AND more productive!

7. All communication is not equal. It should be customized for the receiver. Speak THEIR ‘language.’

8. Put all of your focus into your own effort and attitude. Make the daily choice to work hard AND smart... and no matter what happens to you... choose a response that moves you forward.

9. You increase the chance of getting what you WANT when you focus on helping other people get what they NEED.

10. You will never be happy or successful until you truly believe you DESERVE to be happy and successful. How do you deserve it? Put in consistent work during the UNSEEN HOURS.

11. Business Success 101: solve a relevant problem (or fulfill a need), give more in value then you accept in payment, create an unparalleled work environment, and focus on consistently heightening the consumer experience.

12. Any investment you make into the most important relationships in your life - personal or professional - are a sound investment. Your relationships are one of your most valuable currencies.

13. Make sure you love what you do, why you do it, where you do it, and who you do it with. If you don’t, you are in the wrong place!

14. Every time you interact with someone you either strengthen a human connection or your erode it. Strive to strengthen as many connections as possible as often as possible.

15. You get what you accept.

16. The first step to improving any relationship is to improve yourself.

17. A large portion of your performance hinges on your morning and evening routine. Design them with intention.

18. Aim to make as many high pressure decisions as possible during low pressure times. Be proactive in anticipating adversity and decide how you will react/respond BEFORE it happens.

19. If you lay one brick a day with care and precision... before you know it you will have a sound and sturdy wall.

20. Do more of what works and less of what doesn’t. Knowing what loses is every bit as important as knowing what wins.

Excellent and detailed points for a clear and successful 2020!
