Kicking off the summer with the Flint Hills Family Festival
It’s an annual tradition almost a quarter of a century old. Flint Hills Resources and the Ordway will present the 23rd annual Flint Hills Family Festival in Saint Paul on June 2-3. Our partnership predates my time at Flint Hills, but I know the history and the stories of the people from the Ordway and Flint Hills who were responsible for introducing this wonderful event to Minnesota.?They’ve all since moved on to other pursuits but their vision remains.????
The Festival was borne with one shared vision: Making the performing arts accessible for all.
More than one million kids and their families have experienced the Festival since 2001. In fact, it is one of the largest and longest-standing events of its kind in the country.
So, why does Flint Hills partner with the Ordway to present the Festival to the community?

Like most companies in Minnesota, we take great pride in where we live, and we believe it’s important to contribute meaningfully to our community.?It’s a central tenet of our commitment to practicing good stewardship as a business. It’s also a source of pride for our employees.?
At Flint Hills, we are fortunate to partner with dozens of organizations that help make Minnesota a special place to live and work. The contributions of these organizations range from restoring natural habitat and protecting Minnesota’s air quality to inspiring kids to become the next generation of problem-solvers or anything else they want to be. The partnership with the Ordway to create the Flint Hills Family Festival is especially unique, however, because there is nothing else like it in Minnesota.???
Our partners at the Ordway bring extraordinary, world-class performers from across the country to our capitol city every year. The Ordway is the arts epicenter of Saint Paul, and it consistently delivers on its mission of creating shared experiences through live performance. We are so proud of our partnership with this high caliber arts organization.
2023 is going to be another amazing year at the Flint Hills Family Festival. I encourage you to check it out. The performances and activities outside are free, and indoor performances on Ordway stages range from $5-$30. The Festival website has all the details. I hope to see you on June 2 and 3 in downtown Saint Paul.
