A Historic Milestone for Health & Safety January 2025 marks 50 years since the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 came into effect. In 1974, 651 workers lost their lives at work, fast forward to 2023-24, that number has reduced to 138 – a testament to decades of progress in workplace safety.
