Kia Sportage Gets A Minor Update – Details

Kia Motor Pakistan has announced a minor upgrade in its crossover SUV, Kia Sportage, but there is a catch. In a social media post, the company announced the refresh in the limited edition of the vehicle. “Introducing a striking new look for Kia Sportage Limited Edition with a distinct new emblem,” the company announced. It means the new emblem will not be on all models or variants of the car, but rather only in the limited white edition.

“Sportage Limited Edition comes with a distinctive new emblem,” the post read.

So, a minor change in a limited edition model, and that is it. The good thing is that the company has not announced a price hike after this “striking new look.” It is pertinent to mention that the same car was spotted on the roads while being transported to Kia’s dealerships on a carrier.

Kia Sportage Limited Edition?

Kia Motors introduced the Kia Sportage Limited Edition, called “Clear White,” in November 2023. The car has a black front grille, lower grille, side skirts, fog lamps, and emblem. We did a first-look review of this version, in which we discussed the changes in exterior and interior in detail.

Changes in Exterior

The front lip of the Sportage is kept the same with fog lights, halogen lights, projection lamps, DRLs, and LED indicators. However, a black trim runs through the overall bumper. Kia badging is turned into black with a slightly modified front grille. A black chrome runs through it while the old plastic finish front spoiler is changed into gloss black.

This limited edition has black alloy wheels with a 19-inch rim and a KUMHO tire sized 245/45/R19. However, the normal Sportage has an 18-inch rim and a tire size of 225/55/R18. These new wide tires add an aggressive look to the overall exterior. The windows garnish and door guards have been modified from the normal plastic finish to gloss black, which gives the SUV a cleaner look.

The rear profile of the limited edition has more minor changes like the Kia logo and other badging of Sportage, and AWD is black. At the same time, all the other plastic and chrome elements are tuned into gloss black. All these minute changes didn’t look as pronounced on the black edition as they are adding a different dimension to the new white edition.

Changes in Interior

Moving on to the interior, previously, beige dominated the inner aesthetics, which is now replaced with gloss black. All the upholstery aligns with the dark theme, along with the leather padding on door panels. However, the roof liner and panoramic roof are still the same.

Sadly, the OEM left the silver garnish running on the console, infotainment, and cup holders, which would have been better synchronized with the overall black look.

Safety and technology features are the same, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Electronic Parking Brake, Parking Sensors, Downhill Assist, Auto Hold, Diff Lock, Drive Modes, and Cruise Control. Rear AC vents are standard across all variants, with unchanged charging ports, USB inlets, and 12V ports, where a wireless charging spot is a significant missing feature.
