Kia Pakistan to Unveil its First EV at PAPS – Reports

Back in August 2024, we informed you that Kia Pakistan is all set to enter the electric vehicle segment soon. The reports at that time suggested that it could be Kia EV3, EV5, EV6 or EV9. Recently a lot of companies are introducing EVs in Pakistan, i.e., the one of the biggest EV companies in the world BYD just entered Pakistan. Meanwhile, Changan has introduced its EV brand Deepal, along with Eco-Green Motors and Regal Automobiles getting license to locally assemble their vehicles, Honri Ve and Seres3, respectively. In short, a very interesting and rapidly developing time period for the EVs in the country and it seems, Kia has finally decided to be the new entrant.?

A few minutes ago, Kia Pakistan shared a teaser on its social media, reading: “Kia is setting the stage for what’s next. Stay tuned for the Pakistan Auto Show as we unveil a new chapter of movement.” Meanwhile, the video attached to it has another caption which states “stay tuned to electrify your future.”

So from electrifying, we guess it is about EVs, an exciting news indeed. Now the company hasn’t revealed the car and it is expected that it would be one of the above-mentioned EVs and most probably EV5 or EV6. And it could be a total surprise because in the start of 2023, we did a first look review of Kia Niro EV but we never heard about it again. For a recap, here is that review for you:

It would be clear after a week anyhow, because Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) is going to be held on October 25 to 27, 2024 in Lahore. So, keep your fingers crossed and just wait for a few days more.

Along with Kia, it is expected that Hyundai Pakistan will unveil new Elantra hybrid at the same show, meaning electrifying times ahead for the local car industry as more and more players are adopting the new technology. It would not only increase the competition among the car assemblers but also give the consumers a number of new options.
