KGW earns seven Regional Emmy Awards, including Overall Excellence for third year in a row
KGW has earned seven Northwest Emmy? awards from the Northwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), including top honors for Overall Excellence for the third year in a row. The awards event was held in Seattle on Saturday, June 4. The competition included the five states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
KGW received the Overall Excellence Award, recognizing the innovative work of the station across all departments and functions. The Overall Award was first established in 2004; this is the fourth time KGW has been honored in that category and third year in a row.

Our team focuses each day on how we can tell unique and compelling stories that make a difference and help improve the community. Receiving the Station of Excellence award for the past three years is affirming our mission of re-thinking what local news can be and serving our community with journalism and business solutions that truly matters.” said Steve Carter, President and General Manager of KGW.
The news station was also recognized for Health/Medical Long Form, Commercial Campaign, Weather Anchor, Sports Anchor, Reporter – News Single Shift, and Video Journalist. KGW is also proud to have partnered with and air the Emmy award-winning series Expressions in Black produced by Heart and Hustle Productions. Entries were based on material that was first broadcast in the calendar year of 2021.
