The keyword for the events of the future is HYBRID
The approach to creating events in pandemic times has completely changed. We have gone from totally face-to-face meetings to totally remote realizations during the most stringent lockdown periods. The present and the future are and will be increasingly oriented towards hybrid events, in which the presence of the public on-site will be accompanied by remotely connected listeners and participants able to enjoy the same experience and the same emotional involvement.
Nickland Media was involved, as a digital media specialist, by Massimo Ariatta, co-founder of Number One Servizi Tecnici per lo Spettacolo, an audiovisual service company based in Vigliano Biellese (Northern Italy), in a project for the planning, creation, and management of a hybrid convention that featured Mondoffice, the Italian company leader in the integrated supply of products and services for the workplace, one of the many business units part of the French group Raja, the renowned European distributor of packaging to companies.
Obviously in front of everything the biggest difficulty: having to deal with all the practical and logistical limitations due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was not possible to gather too many people together, both during the event itself and especially during the production of the contents. It was obviously important to minimize the people and technicians involved.
So to accomplish our mission we had to turn a simple and charmless room of the headquarters Mondoffice, into a real TV production studio. So we've chosen to field a set of 24 Prolights Smart Bat LEDs to give color to the main room where the event was held and the session was recorded. In addition, a theatrical light was placed above the speaker at the lectern.
The resident video control system, designed for the hall by Nickland Media, and installed by Number One Servizi Tecnici per lo Spettacolo, is based on a Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Pro switcher, connected to a Blackmagic Design Video Assist 12G monitor. To the PTZ camera, a Lumens VC-A50P, already present on-site, two other Canon XA-25 have been added as support cameras, tripod-mounted and connected by 3G-SDI cable.
With regard to the audio sector, we relied on the resident mixer, installed by Number One Servizi Tecnici per lo Spettacolo, a T.Mix 16.4. Ceiling speakers were used for audio diffusion. A Sennheiser MKE 40-EW is the cardioid lavalier microphone we chose to capture the speaker's voice.
The entire aspect of the direction, the scenography, the lights, and the final product were handled by Nicolò Caneparo with huge support from Gioia Bellomo, the PA to Managing Director, Marco Destefanis (IT Manager), Christian Novello (Operational Manager), and Valentina Morelli (Social Media Manager). The coordination of the operational team was by Massimo Ariatta. The assembly of the studio hardware equipment was by Corrado Garbaccio Ioria.
