KeyNote’s Mantra to Overcome Anxiety
KeyNote - Women Speakers Directory
Bringing diversity to speaking stages around the world
Warm welcome to all our KeyNote Community!
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we're proud to be supporting this cause. At KeyNote, we aim to create a world where everyone feels valued and heard, and that includes speaking up about mental health. This year's theme of anxiety highlights the importance of recognizing and addressing this common issue, which can have a range of debilitating symptoms that affect all aspects of life.
It's crucial to prioritize mental health and seek support when needed. We believe in raising awareness and encouraging open conversations about mental health and well-being. That's why we've taken the initiative to ask our inspirational thought leaders at KeyNote to share their personal mantras, stories and tips on how to beat anxiety.
Our amazing speakers have collaborated with us for this campaign, giving their time and energy to share their experiences with all of you. We're proud to have them as part of our community, and we're excited to share their wisdom with you.
We've started this campaign on our social media channels, but we also wanted to reach out to more people through our newsletter. So, let's share the mantras from our speakers and inspire others to take care of their mental health too.
Dr Lakshmi’s Thoughts, Mantras & Inspiration For You -
"?? Accepting current realities,
?? Acknowledging all that we can still be grateful for, and
?? Asking for help,?
Keeps anxiety at bay, creating room for growth even under difficult circumstances.
At a time when I lost my job, I found it hard to sleep, and if I did manage to sleep, I would wake up feeling anxious and helpless.?Soon, I realized that this was not serving me and was only making things worse, as it started to affect my health. At that moment, I decided to stop indulging in self-pity and worry and instead started looking for what was still in my control. I decided to embark on a learning journey and invested in speaking and leadership courses. I met many new people and became part of new communities. This helped me land better career opportunities that I had never imagined before. Therefore, instead of worrying and letting anxiety take over, take charge of your life by accepting reality, adopting an attitude of gratitude, and choosing the action that best serves you. "
Her mantra and story are incredibly motivating and inspiring.?

Lissy’s Thoughts, Mantras & Inspiration For You -
“Change is the only thing certain in life. This brings about uncertainty and unknowns -? the cornerstones of anxiety. Daily manage the “what if thoughts” in your mind and soothe them down. Believing that I can cope with this and practice self-compassion during moments of anxiety. It is not an easy time. Repeat to yourself, I can handle this, I have handled it before. I can find solutions.”
Her words are truly empowering.

Bhali’s Thoughts, Mantras & Inspiration For You -
“Anxiety really comes about when we have a poor relationship with the future and we’re thinking the worst outcomes possible about our future. Instead of thinking the worst, try to think about it from a positive light and view it in a way in which you can overcome (even if the outcome is one you’re not happy with). Here is what you can tell yourself. “Whatever comes my way - I will have the strength to deal with it? I have overcome many setbacks before and I certainly can overcome what comes my way..

If you are overwhelmed the best thing you can do and tell yourself is “Let me do one thing at a time and take one day at a time”. Often we jump ahead and get overwhelmed by the thought of what needs to get done. Instead do 1 thing at a time and take 1 day at a time.“
One can truly implement Bhali's advice in their daily life to beat anxiety.

Natalia’s Thoughts, Mantras & Inspiration For You -?
"We don’t just wake up one day with mental health symptoms. They are part of a bigger story. There’s context. In order to move the needle when it comes to mental health, we need to learn to explore the story… both the past and the present… and do the deep work to unearth the roots of it all and begin to create a better way to be here. This is perhaps the task of our generation."
Her words inspire us to delve into the roots of mental health, acknowledging its context and making it our generation's mission.

1 年I really loved reading this edition of KeyNote's newletter. Personally what helps me when I'm anxious is to firstly take a pause/step back so I can see things differently. Secondly to write all my to dos down, I can get overwhelmed thinking of all the things that I need to get done but when I see it on paper I realise that it is not as bad or I can decide what matters now and what can be done later. Thirdly, I've learnt to reach out for help. There is no shame in asking, as one of my good friends once told me, if you don't tell what you need you'll never give people the opportunity to show how much they care about you. It's not a sign of weakness but strength to show your vulnerable side.
