Keynote Video The Future of Associations

Keynote Video The Future of Associations

The premise of the keynote is that associations need to tackle the challenges facing them to transform themselves for the future.

It outlines a 6-Step Roadmap to Progress that forward-thinking associations are now embracing, and that is explored in detail in the book, The Future of Associations:

Step 1 Disruption – Associations must evolve if they are to survive and thrive into the future.

Step 2 Mission – Create and communicate absolute clarity of purpose to engage members.

Step 3 Governance – You cannot be a modern association without a contemporary board.

Step 4 External Strategy – A businesslike approach is required to succeed commercially, and grow members, income and impact.

Step 5 Internal Alignment – Look inward for solutions to your greatest challenges.

Step 6 Future Focus – The future is unwritten, and dependent on the decisions you make today.

Here’s what association leaders had to say, after listening to the keynote and attending the Association Masterclass in Sydney:

Omer’s 6-Step Roadmap and governance priorities are essential considerations for the board in setting strategic directions for the success of the organisation

"I gained three key outcomes from Omer’s excellent masterclass, with all three down to Omer’s skill in structuring the workshop, and delivering it so responsively." Richard Lawrance, CEO, Health Information Management Association.

"The 6-Step Roadmap was very beneficial for us to benchmark the progress of our changes and this provides great encouragement to continue reforms in pursuit of excellence." Brett Mace, CEO, Australian Institute of Building Surveyors.

"The inspiring content and participant interaction crystallized my thinking. The 6-Step Roadmap is invaluable to engage the board and management in conversations around what really matters." Lee Tonitto, CEO, Australian Marketing Institute.

"A really great session with some practical follow-up." James March, CEO, Barossa Grape & Wine Association.

"An invaluable framework to address the fundamental challenges, strategies and existential questions facing our organisation in the long term." Martin Sinclair, Membership Manager, Hire and Rental Industry Association.

"It was an excellent strategic planning workshop with many takeaways and one paradigm-shaking moment for me. A great day, thank you." Sandra Cormack, Manager Strategic Development, Australian Human Resources Institute.

"Challenging, inspiring, invigorating; attending Omer’s session has me revisiting not only how I’ve been doing things but delving into why." Shona Gawel, GM Membership Services, Australian Institute of Food Science & Technology.

"Omer’s 6-Step Roadmap and governance priorities are essential considerations for the board in setting strategic directions for the success of the organisation." Paul Naylor, CEO, Master Plumbers Association of NSW.
