Following Day 1 of the 44th ASEAN Innovation Business Platform Conference & Exhibition Thailand "The Growth Imperative: Innovating for Impact through Technology and Sustainability", where our esteemed guests shared about digital transformation, banking innovations, cybersecurity, and driving data-driven business value .
Industry 4.0 for Sustainability
Thailand has ambitious goals to transition into an innovative, value-centric industry. The country is focusing on 12 key areas, including automation, robotics, aviation, logistics, biofuels, and digital technologies. Central to this transformation is Industry 4.0, which revolutionises traditional factories by integrating advanced digital technologies such as IoT, AI, automation, and cloud computing. This integration optimises resources, reduces downtime, and enhances product quality.
To answer that question, how do I get started? So just look at what we were coming in four dimensions, and we have a white paper to answer to give the description for every dimension. This is the result of the Thailand industry 4.0 readiness.?
In a panel discussion with Dr. Surasak Wannaparhun , Vice President, BJC Group Innovation Leader, Berli Jucker PCL, Khun Athikom Kanchanavibhu , Executive Vice President, Digital & Technology Transformation, Mitr Phol, Khun Sanya Chindaprasert , Digital Director, Siam Cement Group Chemicals, Khun Panita Pongpaibool , Deputy Executive Director, National Electronics and Computer Technology Center and Khun Gunal Kannan , AVP, Tech Strategy & Advocacy, BMC Software, they shared their insights into driving Industry 4.0 with technology and observed a growing awareness of sustainability among Thai companies.

Emerging Technologies and Customer Centricity
Emerging technologies are pivotal in enabling digital transformation, especially for industries that engage directly with consumers. This is particularly relevant for financial services, retail, and communication app providers, where customer-centricity and enhancing the overall customer experience are paramount.
Kicking off the session with a presentation on “Elevating Customer Experience through a Secured 1:1 Conversation” by Khun Atthaya Phianphensiriwong , Business Development Manager, 8x8, the panel then delved into the landscape of customer-centric innovation in Thailand with Khun Lluis Ferre Nadal , Head of International Business, Boonrawd Brewery, Khun Norasit Sitivechvichit , Chief Operating Officer, LINE Thailand, Dr. Lisa Patvivatsiri , Chief Operations and Business Transformation Officer, Thai Group Holdings and Dr. Nitipong Boon-Long , Regional Director, Indochina, denodo.
On innovating for customers…?
We are not fighting each other. We are fighting the customer every day.

I was getting feedback from the consumers and it was a very long process to get noticed. And if you don't respond to this on social media platforms, consumer disengagement depravity quickly. So we see a lot of engagement with our brands and have responded quickly to the expectations.
On data-driven innovation…
A brief survey among our conference attendees revealed that more than 50% of enterprises expected more than 20% increase in revenue or market share attributed to data-driven insights, however, presently about 40% believed that there is only a 10% increase.
The secret to do business today is data and behaviour. Even though we have a lot of data, the thing is that the data is not driving insights… So that’s what we are doing today and it’s really important.
Without data, everything is a one-sided opinion. So what digital transformation gives us is it gives us data, but you got to have that contextual understanding of what this data means. So data can give us certainties. When you have digital transformation in progress, you have meaningful data, you can immediately have better decision making from the time an event happens to the time you listen to the rest. You can compress your decision making because the data is available faster to you in a format that is easy to understand. And it's available to everyone. So that's the effect of digital transformation.
Technology-Driven Supply Chains
In a discussion centered around supply chain visibility and sustainability, Khun Sangkom K. , Regional IT Director, Kerry Siam Seaport, Khun Teerapong W. , Chief Strategy Officer, AXONS, Mr. Vighnes Kanagaraj , Head of Transformation and Change, Pharmaniaga, Mr. Johnathan Tan , Head of Business Development, Tapway, and Khun Natasak Rodjanapiches , Vice Chairman, Creative Digital Economy Committee, Board of Trade Thailand, explored how technologies including data analytics, blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) are reshaping supply chain operations. These technologies also foster sustainability and enhance visibility throughout the supply chain, enabling efficient resource allocation, and improved business processes.?
My board always says I don’t mind paying 1 million Thai Baht, if I get 100 million Thai Baht return on investment. So we need to focus on usability. We need to focus on the pain point of what we said we are going to solve. Technologies out there are a lot faster, so we just need to understand that (and define how it can support us).
Throughout the 2-day conference, we also heard from 12 technology startups from Korea. This was made possible through AIBP's collaboration with the Korea Institute of Startup and Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) and the Korean Integrated Logistics Association (KILA). During the event, startups including Deep-In-Sight, IPIN LABS, Modern Technology Hub, VINGO, Market of Materials, Star-pickers, Largo, Starchium, Colosseum Corporation, The Armor Bearer, WATA and WIDEUSE presented their ideas to the audience in concise 5-minute pitches.?
That concludes the 44th edition of AIBP Conference & Exhibition in Bangkok. Should you have any suggestions into topics or speakers for subsequent editions, do feel free to reach out to us.?
