Key to Success: Having the Right Attitude to Life

Separatism, hatred and division have only one outcome: destruction and loss for everyone. No one benefits from this type of situation. There are only losers: those who lose more, and those who lose less.

That's why today I'm sharing a great example from Israel to demonstrate that's it's totally possible to do things differently. And this isn't some fancy theory you'll learn about in a program. Here is a CEO who applies his correct approach to life in a practical way every single day in his company.

I know AppsFlyer CEO Oren Kaniel personally, and this is about a letter he wrote to our representatives in the Knesset, featured in Globes (in the Hebrew print version so far).

While his peers are out waving flags, shouting, disrupting traffic and fanning the flames of hate, Oren is doing the exact opposite.

Oren has a special kind of vision that allows him to tap into the power of life, and actively apply these powers to whatever he's involved in.

Not Your Typical Israeli CEO

Just so you understand what kind of person Oren is. The first time I came to AppsFlyer for a meeting he happened to be in the reception area. He greeted me warmly and said he recognized me from LinkedIn. He took a genuine interest in who I was meeting. I'm purposely giving this example because I've worked with many entrepreneurs and as I've shared before, the minute the funding comes in their behavior changes instantly - it all goes to their head. So it's really refreshing to meet such a successful and down to earth CEO. It takes a very special kind of person not to fall into that trap. It's no secret that there's a great vibe over there and I'm pretty sure everyone loves working for him.

Not Your Typical Israeli Startup

AppsFlyer first came on my radar when I saw them hosting a dinner for Holocaust survivors, with the founders and employees actually dancing and serving them.

It's clear to see Oren is concerned about the escalating situation here in Israel - first of all because he's the type of person who cares about the collective. He's also concerned about the company he purposely founded right here in Israel.

So while there are people in his position inciting hate and just in general creating bad vibes in our country, he's been inviting experts to speak in their headquarters in Herzliya Pituach. These events are open to the public and recordings are shared publicly.

This is a company that's always looking for ways to strengthen the weaker parts of society, whether it's teens, young women, new immigrants - the list goes on and on. They don't just donate money - they take the time to bring people together in positive ways.

----------------------------------------

Here are some highlights from his article in Globes (Hebrew followed by English translation ....)

??? ?????????, ??? ?? ???? ?????? ?????????, ??? ??? ????.?

???? ????? ???? ????? ????? ??????, ???? ????.?

???? ??????? ???? ???? ??? ??????.

??????? ?????? ??? ?????? ??????? ?????? ????. ??? ?????? ?????? ????? ?? ????? ?????. ?? ??????. ?? ?????. ?? ?????. ??? ?????? ????, ????????, ?????? ????, ???? ????? ????? ????? ?????.

We at AppsFlyer, as well as most Israeli companies, do not have another country.

Our life's work is connected to the fate of the country, for better or for worse.

The center of our activity is here by choice.

Far-reaching changes must be made by broad consensus. How do you reach a broad consensus? Not by dividing and ruling. Not in division. Not in hate. Not under duress. But in a culture of discussion, pluralism, shared destiny, freedom of expression and real freedom of vote.

--------------------------------------------

What You Identify With

So don't say it's not possible to do things a different way. It's possible.

The whole point of these posts of mine is to show that I'm against hatred and division. I would never identify with that type of behavior under any circumstances. But I do very much identify with people who want to sit down to talk and resolve disputes together.

I didn't study economics, but I can assure you one hundred percent that this company and this CEO will always succeed. Oren has a special kind of vision that allows him to tap into the power of life, and actively apply these powers to whatever he's involved in. He did it in a time of crisis, throughout the pandemic. And at times that require great innovation.

It's his attitude that allows him flexibility of power, while also providing an emotional and intellectual addition.

So on the one hand we have these protesters giving really bad examples, and on the other we have leaders like Oren. The average person is somewhere between these two polarities. One is about hatred, and the other is about attempting to truly live in Israel, toward helping it be independent and successful.

As the years go by, the gaps keep growing and this should worry us a lot.

In Conclusion

The key to success is having the right attitude to life. It's good for succeeding in business, in family life, and being able to handle any crisis that comes your way.

So what am I telling you today? Don't waste your energy worrying about what could have been .....

We can all be our own people - we just need to remove the forces of opposition between us. That's it. Then we'll pool all our good energy and everyone will get exactly what they want.
