In 2020, post-COVID, I transitioned into the healthcare sector. The pandemic highlighted the importance of healthcare, prompting a shift in public mindset. This period witnessed a surge in telehealth services, which had been around since 2015 but were underutilized until the pandemic necessitated their widespread adoption.

  • Focus on what truly benefits the client. This might mean sometimes advising against a particular service if it’s not in their best interest, even if it means a potential loss of immediate sales

  • Shift towards OPD Services: Traditionally, healthcare sales focused heavily on hospitalization and inpatient care (Inpatient Department or IPD). Post-COVID, there has been a significant shift towards outpatient services (Outpatient Department or OPD), including teleconsultations, mental wellness, dental and vision care. This shift enables a more holistic approach to healthcare, offering various advantages within personalized plans
  • Customized Healthcare Plans: Consumers have the flexibility to tailor healthcare plans to their specific needs from the entire ecosystem of healthcare services
  • Digital Transformation: Healthcare services are getting digitalized fast. Platforms like Medibuddy are leading the charge, making healthcare easier and more user-friendly

Future Trends:

  • Remote consultations and monitoring for convenience and accessibility, allowing virtual consultations with top healthcare professionals
  • Faster and more accurate disease detection through advanced algorithms
  • Expansion of health insurance coverage, boosting demand for medical devices and pharmaceuticals
