Since its participation in South Korea’s first refinery expansion project in South Africa in 1976, DL E&C has completed approximately 600 projects in the global refinery, petrochemical, and power sectors. Leveraging accumulated expertise and advanced technologies, DL E&C delivers premium services uniquely tailored to its clients.


01. BIM Based Design

*Building information modeling

  • First in Korea to introduce BIM, improving quantity estimation accuracy by generating 3D models from the bidding phase.

  • Implemented design automation systems for equipment specifications, piping design, and layout drawings.
  • Applied systems like Clash Manager (for detecting work interferences) and DQCS (for design standard compliance checks) to automatically detect all design errors.


02. Modular Construction for OSC

*Off Site Construction

  • Successfully installed Korea’s largest single module, weighing 3,500 tons (36m in length, 46m in height) as part of the 2018 S-OIL RUC project.
  • Expanded modular application to include pipe support structures and major equipment structures (60% applied).
  • Achieved a fabrication tolerance within 3mm through real-time accuracy management using 3D scanning.


03. Project Management Based on AWP

*Advanced Work Packaging

  • Developed and operated an in-house platform for AWP application.
  • Applied AWP in more than 10 projects since 2019.
  • Increased work productivity by 16% by managing the entire process from start to completion.


04. CCUS Commercialization Facility and Basic Design Execution

*Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage

  • Successfully executed the basic design for Korea’s first 10MW-class wet CO2 capture facility in a thermal power plant.
  • Extensive expertise in licensing commercial-scale carbon capture facilities.
  • As a licensor, leads the technological development and commercialization of CCUS technologies.


05. Next-Generation Nuclear Power : SMR Development

*Small Modular Reactor

  • In collaboration with U.S.-based X-energy, we implement 4th-generation SMR technology with High-Temperature Gas Reactors (HTGR), ensuring safety even at temperatures as high as 1,800°C.
  • Utilizing SMR-specific modularization technology, we enhance process efficiency, resulting in cost savings and shorter project timelines.
  • With experience in over 600 plants, including 9.9GW of nuclear projects, we offer comprehensive and efficient project management, from basic design to detailed engineering.


06. Eco-Friendly Petrochemical Technology: TC2C Commercialization Project Execution

*Thermal Crude to Chemical?

  • Extensive experience in refinery/petrochemical projects and advanced design solutions.
  • Continued trust from clients led to DL E&C’s involvement in Korea’s largest refining project, the RUC project.
