When it comes to creating psychological safety, you need to consider several points as this is one of the greatest ways to develop a strong company culture.
Firstly - you've got to want to.
Creating a psychologically safe environment is crucial for fostering collaboration, innovation, and overall well-being within a team. Leaders play a pivotal role in shaping this environment. Here are key skills that leaders should possess to create a psychologically safe workplace:
Effective Communication
Empathy
Approachability
Trust Building
Conflict Resolution
Encouraging Diverse Perspectives
Adaptability
Recognition and Appreciation
Transparency
Promoting Learning and Growth
Balancing Expectations
Accountability
Humility
Patience
By embodying these skills, leaders can contribute to a workplace where team members feel secure, valued, and free to express their ideas without fear of judgment or reprisal. This, in turn, enhances collaboration, creativity, and overall team performance.

8 个月I love this post ?? Sherry White because it puts a focus on relationships and lists all the different aspects of relationship building that can either enhance teamwork or erode teamwork. It’s a check list that could be used daily to evaluate the ‘relationship success quotient’ of a leader’s performance should they wish to adopt it as a self evaluation tool. The bit I would add here is that beyond the intellectual understanding of this terrain I feel what is of equal importance to consider is who we are BEING when connecting, talking, working with others. This is about tuning into the vibes we give off emotionally…. are we peaceful, stressed, impatient, frustrated, friendly….are we playing a role or being authentically ourselves….people sense all of these things, often unconsciously, and depending on who we’re BEING will invoke either resistance and dissonance in relationships or resonance and cooperation. If this point inspires curiosity in you, let’s talk!
