Key Insights from the Hydrogen Technology Expo North America
?????? ???????? Hydrogen Technology Expo North America , was as promised, a solution-driven event geared toward the progress of new technologies across the hydrogen energy sector. We would like to share the following thoughts on the show from our team of experts that attended and with other industry thought leaders.
A shift in tone from hydrogen hype to hydrogen reality
Attendees were serious about the North America hydrogen industry and recognized the business potential and the need to drive demand. Discussions this year were less about long-term viability and potential and more about handling, storage, and applications?for use. While the industry waits for federal and?state policies, incentives, and impending IRS rule changes to settle, companies are investing in R&D and strategies are being formed that incorporate tangible hydrogen solutions.
CCUS technology and solutions were a main focus
Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) was a re-occurring theme. This was clearly due in part to Texas being a traditional oil and gas region expanding to low-carbon and green hydrogen production and supply, but seemed to reflect a larger trend. Companies, solution providers, and stakeholders are currently dedicating more resources to CCUS production technology and efficient hydrogen storage over green hydrogen.
