Cisco reports only 22% of organizations in the Philippines are prepared for AI

Only 22% of organizations in the Philippines are fully prepared to implement artificial intelligence (AI), according to the latest report from technology company Cisco. The report, based on a survey of 3,660 senior business leaders across Asia-Pacific, Japan, and China (APJC), shows a modest improvement from 17% last year. The study highlights that infrastructure challenges — such as insufficient compute power, outdated network performance, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities — are significant obstacles.

PLDT plans broader 5G rollout in 2025

PLDT is gearing up to broaden its 5G network coverage across the Philippines in 2025. The network provider is looking to invest further in 5G technology, viewing it as a key element in boosting its mobile services and meeting growing data demands. With 5G, PLDT hopes to enhance mobile data usage and speed across the country, building on its existing individual wireless segment, which reported revenues of P62.1 billion in the first nine months of the year — a year-over-year increase of 2%, or P1.5 billion.

Tesla enters PH market with opening of new store

Multinational automotive company Tesla has officially entered the Philippine market, opening its first Tesla Experience Centre at Uptown Parade, Manila, and debuting its Model Y and Model 3 electric vehicles. The new center aims to simplify car ownership with sales, delivery, and service all available in one place. Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3 vehicles are now on display in the Uptown Mall atrium until Nov. 15, giving Filipinos a first-hand look at these models.

Apple’s ‘Find My’ now lets users share lost item locations

Apple’s new Share Item Location feature, now available in beta with iOS 18.2, allows users to share the location of lost items like AirTags and other Find My network accessories with third parties, such as airlines. This addition aims to make it easier for people to locate misplaced items by enabling secure location sharing directly with others when needed. Through the Find My app on iPhones, iPads, and Macs, users can generate a Share Item Location link for a lost item. Recipients of this link will receive a website showing the item’s location on an interactive map, which updates with the latest available location data.
